Not much crema but espresso was tasty. Piccolo ("what's a piccolo?") had sweetened milk. What is it about sweetened milk in Asia? Food - excellent. Atmosphere and European owned, with excellent cleanliness and standards - great. Good find. Good effort.

1 Espresso, 1 Piccolo

Origin is a really nice European style café in Luwan district of Shanghai. I popped in for a quick coffee when I saw they had a 3 group La Marzocco Linea and serving illy beans I thought it looked pretty safe. I was right; the latte was smooth and not bitter but lacked that special oomph that you get from really good coffee. However it was passable and good option if you’re in this area of Shanghai. The food also looked really fresh. Once you have finished your coffee there are heaps of amazing little boutiques to look at scattered around this ancient maze of laneways. Good fun!
