Memphis Belle

Great espresso, very smooth, beautifully extracted on the E61 replica (strangely very fitting with Amy Winehouse giving backing vocals to the machines purr) . The single was only available on filter, but the house blend was very tasty. Wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend

And today the coffee was very ordinary -actually thats misleading; peculiar is a better word. I order a large skinny cappuccino and what I got was a milkshake size glass with what was the strength of a weak lattè, and what appeared to be chocolate powder in the bottom. Place was very busy so the order did take a while, and while my initial impression was they mixed up, it was announced as a cappuccino when it arrived. Mate's espresso did seem up to the task though.

The coffee was incredible

Memphis Belle was founded by a two of Wellington's best baristas, and aims to bring many different coffee-making methods to the fire. As well as your standard espresso, which they make very very well, they are also one of the few to offer Chemex brewed coffee, and the only one, as far as I know, to offer classic siphon-brewed coffee. They also offer a good range of food, and perhaps most tellingly, are almost always busy.
