Literally, I would nominate Dolce's weekday morning barista, Michael, for best barista in Brisbane. I get a chai latte here sporadically, and Michael knows my drink instantly. If I'm within 10 yards of the cafe, Michael will make eye contact and let me know he's starting my drink, which is always spot on delicious. Today he spotted me from clear across the Mall and got my drink started! I've always had nothing but top service from this cafe, and reviewers "coffeegutz" and "morganfreeman" must have been drunk when they visited La Dolce Vita. Or, just complete wankers. If you like Italy so much,...

Now this cafe is convenient, that's the only positive I could take out of it. I felt like I was being rude interrupting the barista's morning chat with the person who came after me.. when i was at that breaking point of about the leave I got a weird look and the words 'Take-away?' hmm In Italy you can forgive the charm of rudeness with brilliant coffee but La Dolce Vita is far far away from Italy and this coffee got about 3 sips until it found a bin.. Convenient or is it?

I went here for the first time on a weekend, and thought to buy myself a mocha. While the coffee was decent enough (though the chocolate taste I expected was minute at best), the service itself was nonexistent; the barista gave me a disparaging look and wouldn't look me in the eye as he said a half-hearted thank you. Even the cashier seemed offended that I had the gall to want to have a taste of their coffee. Perhaps because I wasn't wearing my best that day, or they got up on the wrong side of bed? In any case, a cafe that can afford to treat its customers like that can afford not to have any...

I buy my coffees here everyday, 5 days a week, venturing out to other cafes to see what else is on offer occasionally! This is a great little place for the everyday coffee enthusiast. No nonsense, quick service and great beans! No grandeous statements here! Try for yourself! You'll be pleasantly surprised!

I had one italian hot chocolate to take away and waitied for 10 minutes for it to come. It was definitely not worth the wait...the italian hot chocolate was too sweet and did not have the rich cocoa taste which I was expecting. I have tried their normal hot chocolate a couple of months ago and would much prefer that over the italian hot chocolate. The coffee was average.
