Is it just me or is it quite warm in here? The oaken, poky interior makes it feel like the sort of place Tolkien would have filled with inebriated hobbits. It's a beautiful bluestone building, bit cramped inside but fine. The furniture looks like it was nicked from a 19th century presbyterian church, but it works. The barista is swell- knows what he's doing.

My flat white was very respectable, as was my girlfriend\'s soy hot choc. What really lets this place down is the food. Ordered the \"autumn eggs\"...bread too thick, burnt corners, eggs poached to oblivion...hard and dry. Come on, it\'s not hard to poach an egg! The eggs sat atop chick pea purée which was over spiced and too salty. The chilli jam on the side was good. The lady had workers bun which she described as soggy and bland....

They make a really satisfying coffee and i always enjoy sitting in there for a while in the little room. The service is good, and the foods quite nice too.
Great little spot on Napier if you're around.
In fact, i think i might head across there this morning for my coffee.
Warm inviting cafe that demands lingering. Lazy music and old wooden everything make for a great place to feel relaxed. The coffee is also very good, fair trade organic. Which I like to think is always a good start on the path to caffeine perfection! The coffee was ground fresh and the espresso hit the spot. Little bit bitter but the aroma and caffeine made up for it. Follow up latte was an even better treat, rich and creamy it hit the mouth warmly and left a great after taste. No acid. Perfect place to chill for a couple of hours on a drizzly morning.
