I can't believe that the last 2 reviews are about the place I'm sitting in right now. I've been coming here for the last few years and my experience couldn't have been more different. The guy might sometimes be a dick, and the big table at the back of the place might be rowdy, but my coffees are always spot on.
If you didn't like it, that's cool, you can always not go back, but how about those of us who love it? Why so negative? I recommend this place to anyone who asks, and will keep doing so.
TERRIBLE. why?
I tried this place numerous times as a local; the coffee depends on who makes it but is generally quite bitter. The worst part is that the owner is incredibly sleazy; he made numerous horrendous comments and gestures at me then verbally accosted me on the street when I did not go back. I was basically harrassed by him. Do not go there.
Have been stopping here when visiting the folks over the years, it's the type of place that gives off a feeling of "Grab a take away coffee and get out" from it's decor or lack of it and staff dont seem to help the vibe either.
Coffee over the years has gone from ok to awesome, a little dark but not bitter and so sweet ! I never really heard of this coffex brand before, but I am a big fan cant seem to find it around either and would like to, because esspresso lab seemed to have changed to some every day no name stuff that isnt really distintive at all. The coffee is okay but the service is awful. I asked for soy and the guy who runs the place basically laughed at me and told me it would ruin his coffee. Perhaps he thought he was being flirtatious? Or amusing? But it was just rude. Not for me :(
