After reading all the positive reviews for Dancing Goat I took a colleague to try... after having a little difficulty finding the place (entry from little Lonsdale not King) was welcomed by two surly staff. Deciding to be extra upbeat to see if a smile could be cracked from one of them we ordered... no smile, no facial expression at all not even a patronising look people sometimes get from really good coffee house staff when they want you to know they are doing a favour by serving you! the coffee turned out to be great. Lovely temperature, fantastic taste and body, really good. Alas goin...

I heard a lot about these guys, and thankfully had the chance to visit. I was extremely impressed! It's kind of hidden in a quietish part of the CBD, but it had certainly made its impression to all those in the area. Crazy morning coffee rush.

The coffee was spectacular! ... definitely one of the best in the CBD. Barista definitely knew his stuff, down to an art, using a La Marzocco of course!

It's a hip little spot, with a simple but nice lunch menu too! Definitely worth visiting when in the area!

Food was great, coffee was great, the place was cramped. The staff are friendly. It is really setup for a take away coffee, which is fabulous.

In October 2010 I left my hometown of Sydney and headed to Melbourne, where I spent three and a half days travelling all over, on my own "coffee crawl".

Dancing Goat was on my list of places to try.
It's a little tricky to find but well worth the effort.

Jesse was up for a chat and managed to still make me a good coffee at the same time.
His Seven Seeds brew was much nicer than one I'd had elsewhere the day before.

The friendly, welcome attention made me want to come back on my next visit down south.

Had one coffee. Can\'t wait to have more. You know what goes down well with a coffee? An apricot and date toast of course. Thank you guys.

Fantastic. First cafe we\'ve visited in Melbourne and the coffee was perfect. Smooth, mellow, not a single hint of bitterness, and no grit in the cup at all, and
Latte art to top it all off. You can tell the barista has a passion for coffee, his concentration he puts into every cup is a testament to that. Barista and staff were all extremely friendly to boot. Very highly recommended. Good luck finding a seat though... The sign of a great cafe.

I love the dancing goat. Fantastic smooth coffee every time and the family running the cafe are extremely friendly and really know their coffee. Cel\'s banana bread and carrot cakes are unbelievable - you have got to try them
