The Cook Book Kitchen is a lovely little cafe. The walls are lined with different recipe books that customers are welcome to browse through. While the breakfast menu is nothing exciting, there are definitely yummy options.
The coffee here is one of the better sources of caffeine in Surrey Hills. It comes quickly and tastes good. My latte was smooth without any bitter aftertaste.
The only distracting thing about this cafe is the noise of the train line. This isn't so much of a problem on the weekend but during the week if you have an early brekky there are trains every 5 minutes or so.
The Cookbook kitchen is a homely, relaxed cafe set in the heart of Surrey Hills. Soft music plays in the background, and customers are welcome to sit on a couch by the fireplace, or at the usual tables and chairs.
Service is polite, and the menu varied, with a good selection of breakfast items and light lunches available.
I ordered a strong latte. Whilst the coffee wasn't particularly strong, it was well made, having a good texture and temperature. The coffee was smooth, mild and very drinkable. A friend decided that one latte wasn't enough!
