When they first opened Churchills had a fabulous deli counter. That soon went. It's changed direction again and now does evening/weekend music & tapas. The coffee used to be quite OK, but last time I tried to order a coffee I was told they didn't do coffee without a food order - only the tapas menu was available - and I didn't feel like chorizo prawns, or whatever it was, at 10 am. I asked for just a takeaway coffee and was told they didn't do those any more. Gloomy room with no other customers. Recently (last week) they seem to be closed during daytime. I guess that's why all the other...

I believe this place has now closed.
In it's heyday it one of the best brunch and coffee places in the City.

I enjoyed the beer garden.

The fact that the beer garden was the first thing I thought of says a lot. It wasn't that bad, just not memorable.

Great place to go for a coffee in Mont Albert. Long wait for take away so you can\'t be in a hurry. Fantastic food and nice service in a bustling and cosy location. Good coffee, smooth and tasty.

Bland but perfectly drinkable coffee, worth a visit for the fantastic food though.

Popped by here the other day. Was impressed by the interior -- very modern and relaxing joint. Sadly, the fireplace was described as an anti-heater by the quirky wait staff (cold air blows down the chimney, making those who dreamt of a quiet arvo by a fire cold).

The cheeses and menu look great, although I didn't try any.

The coffee was pleasant without being anything special.

This is a very pleasant cafe which serves coffee based on Genovese Beans which are roasted in Brunswick, Melbourne. The beans have a strong depth of flavour and produce a coffee that has the same depth of flavour but is also smooth to the pallet. The beans were chosen by agreement by all the cafe staff and it is a good choice.
