When they first opened Churchills had a fabulous deli counter. That soon went. It's changed direction again and now does evening/weekend music & tapas. The coffee used to be quite OK, but last time I tried to order a coffee I was told they didn't do coffee without a food order - only the tapas menu was available - and I didn't feel like chorizo prawns, or whatever it was, at 10 am. Read More → Like • Share • ReportPopped by here the other day. Was impressed by the interior -- very modern and relaxing joint. Sadly, the fireplace was described as an anti-heater by the quirky wait staff (cold air blows down the chimney, making those who dreamt of a quiet arvo by a fire cold).
The cheeses and menu look great, although I didn't try any.
The coffee was pleasant without being anything special.
This is a very pleasant cafe which serves coffee based on Genovese Beans which are roasted in Brunswick, Melbourne. The beans have a strong depth of flavour and produce a coffee that has the same depth of flavour but is also smooth to the pallet. The beans were chosen by agreement by all the cafe staff and it is a good choice.
