Chocolate Soldier Espresso Bar

I recently ventured to Chocolate Soldier (the one located near the entrance to the Telstra building) at the invitation of a work colleague. It’s one of four cafés belonging to the Cicada Group who occupy much of the ground level space around this building.

The café has a nice feel to it. I’ve always liked the fit out with its classy furnishings, leather lounges and European influence. It’s a little bit wet this week (slight understatement), so we opted for a table inside right next to the twin La Marzoccos. I was impressed with the prompt friendly service, and I’ve been past ...

Nice smooth coffee with energetic service. It is a great way to start the day (especially with one of their delicious brownies!!).

Passing through Brisbane we thought we'd give this one a shot. A decent, though not great, coffee - I agree with another reviewer that it's a little weak for my taste. A strong selection of sweets, including gluten- and wheat-free options. A nice relaxed vibe/environment to sit and enjoy, though a little 'old school' in terms of decor (though some might describe it as 'classic').

A nice looking modern executive type cafe on George St opp the courts.

They use Allpress coffee which is a little weak for my liking but the crowds there must like it.

There is also a big selection of fine chocolates in case you are feeling slightly decadent.
