Having been going to Campos every weekend for about 2 years I'm finally writing a review to identify that they seem to have recently lost the plot! It is a real shame but the last couple of coffees have been milky water. New Barista woes or what?

I still clearly remember all the hype around Campos Coffee opening in Brisbane a few years ago. They already had a massive reputation from their Sydney presence, and coffee lovers in Brisbane (me included) were licking their lips with anticipation. However not everyone was quite so keen to welcome Campos with open arms. In a controversial move, the “decision makers” at James St Markets bowed to pressure from existing (less accomplished) cafés in the area and erected a fence to prevent direct access to Campos Coffee from the James St Markets. Been here twice now and both times they were a disgrace to the campos name. Rushed and unfriendly service, coffee took ages and I've had better from a McCafe. I love Campos, but I'll get the beans and make it at home. Won't be back.

coffee: always fantastic. ballsy, rich and robust goodness. milk always perfect with their "brand" Rosetta, even on piccolos
food: the kitchen runs a tight ship. high standard, very generous portions, and always changing food menu. still upset they changed their chorizo and corn bread 6 months down the track :'(
service: very high standard. very experienced, mature and knowledgable waitstaff. better service than in v...

Finally got myself down to Campos! It was late in the day by the time we had arrived and the guys were mid pack up. But like true professionals the guys still gave us great coffee and service even though it was a Friday afternoon and they probably were keen to get out..
Our coffees were beautifully made and extracted with the utmost respect to the bean, milk texture of my Latte was that of liquid silk.
The guy that took our order was just so friendly and had a manner about him that seems to be lacking in many other places. We weren't treated like another number and even though it being a la...
