I was taken here the other day for breakfast by some friends and literally had no expectations as I am not from Brisbane and had not heard of this place. It was busy but the vibe was still cool and the service was right on. My long black was a perfect temp and the flavour seemed as good as you could pull from their beans. Their coffee is not setting the world on fire but it's an enjoyable experience nonetheless.
We go 1-2 x/week. Really great double shot skim lattes, but every barista makes their double shot short macchiatos differently - different cups/glasses, size and taste. Consistency would be good. Food simple and nice and fresh. Service friendly and a bowl of water for the dog. Larger tables would be good as too small for two people with newspapers, plus coffees. Rating of coffee is done on latte's, as I have given up on ordering macchiato's there.
4 Short Macchiatos
I have been a regular for over 2 years now. It's ok to park - sometimes on school mornings you might have to walk 150 metres - but most of the time it's ok. I am the rain man of consistency and @ this place there's 3 menu items for me - always consistent !!
1. Skinny Capp with 2 shots - it's so consistent - even the take away version. Just the right blend each time - never burned - the right temparature.
2. The Brekkie Burger is great value - my coffee and Brekkie Burger is around $ 13 - you don't need anything else to start the day.

The coffee is great, a simple and consistent flavor everytime I stop by brother Bulimba. The decor perfectly suits the brilliant laid back atmosphere. The staff are friendly and knowledgable. Next time your there try the banana bread or the brekky burger with your coffee.

I have mixed feelings about my first visit to Brother Espresso Bulimba today. There were some aspects that I really liked, and others that disappointed a little…
Let's start with the positives. Located just around the corner from Oxford Street, I liked the fact that it was right amongst it but still nice and easy to find a park nearby. There's a great atmosphere here, and the place was full of people when we arrived - friendly locals happy to have a chat and a laugh. Our coffees and food came out nice and quickly, and the thick cut fruit toast was a real hit.
