If I could comment on opening hours I would give Bona Fides top marks. I was in town gear shopping on Kent street last weekend and all of my normal preferences were closed. At 1630 on a Saturday I was able to get a respectable soy piccolo here without fuss or any sign of closing up for the day. While I believe there are better, dedicated, "espresso bar" options available mid week, Bona Fides is a solid alternative to some of the other cafes with similar hours in the immediate are (think QVB).
Quite a delightful, intimate cafe very close to Queen Vic. Friendly, attentive staff serve an excellent breakfast always worthy of staying for at least two coffees. Very good cappuccino - just the right strength for my taste (I lean towards strong). I don't live in Sydney but this has become my cafe of choice lately.

This café caught my eye because of its slick look. It is very comfortable and warm – and this is just what you want when you need to escape the cold weather of Sydney. This café use a 100% organic coffee bean from the Private Label Coffee Roaster. The coffee was smooth and the milk was reasonably creamy with a good attempt at some latte art. The staff here are very friendly and attentive. This is a great spot to work or catch up with a friend with some great coffee.
