Ben Espresso Bar

I've had many coffees here. The latest couple I had were luke warm and weak. Perhaps it was an off couple days?

Previous coffees have been very good.

A good little cafe with obvious potential that opens early and has a near monopoly on decent coffee in this area. Ben, the owner, can pull a mean shot (see Little B), but unfortunately he was racing out the door with bags of beans this day rather than standing behind the machine. The take away latte I had was okay but hopefully not indicative of their product in general.

Fight past the suits and get the best coffee in this part of town.

If the 3kg roaster in the window, the sacks of coffee neatly stacked next to a queue of well dressed professionals all eagerly awaiting their coffee and a general hum of happy conversation isn't an endorsement of Ben's talent then I don't know what is

Ben (the owner and the cafe name) turns out one great cup after another. I tried a few drinks over my visits when recently on holiday in NZ and enjoyed each and every one. From the espresso, to the macchiato and the flat white each drink was superbly crafted by Ben and served with a smile.
