Very cheap for students. Fast service. With a lovely little record store inside. Seating is outside only.

I love the setup of this place! The collection and display of old records and CDs look amazing. The latte I had here was good, although not to die for. I would definitely come back for the atmosphere though, feels like a side of glenferrie that I hadn't discovered.

Located impeccably for anybody catching the train, Alley Tunes combines quirky service with an impressive collection of records.

The cafe aspect to the store seems more of an afterthought, but the coffee is better than many on Glenferrie Rd.

By no means a specialty coffee location, more than enough for a caffeine hit as you wait for a train or pick out some vinyl.

A welcome change from the Glenferrie scene.

Alley Tunes combines two of my great loves – coffee and music – in a way that few places have managed. A great selection of vinyl & CDs (old, new, mainstreamish, as eclectic as you want), and very nice coffee made by the very friendly staff.

There's not heaps of space to sit down, but if that bothers you then this isn't the café for you anyway. If you want great coffee on your way to Glenferrie Station, or you need a hit as you go crate digging, you can't do better :)

Ahhh, Alley Tunes. My favourite second hand record store in all of Melbourne, turned favourite record store/cafe!

After ownership changed hands a few years ago, the new owner saw the potential of marrying together good tunes, great atmosphere and great coffee.

The last time I was here I spent around an hour perusing through crates of vinyl and then was kindly offered a coffee a la gratis having still not yet bought any records. I've since been back for the coffee alone, as it was of a very high standard. Great full flavour and very pleasant aftertaste with a great buzz!

The atmospher...

This long running staple on the second hand vinyl scene has only relatively recently entered the cafe industry, expanding to add coffee and a few drinks to the piles of old records. although the coffee is only a little above average with the same staff generally dishing out the tunes as well as working the machine, the selection of records on offer as you relax in the shade makes this an enjoyable experience.

Alley Tunes is first a Great Record Store (they have LP's galore) and a Moshtix outlet. but they also do make great coffee.

They are located in the lane next to Glenferrie Station, so they are an easy stop while on your way to the train.

With some seating, and extra friendly staff, it's definitely worth giving them a shot.
