Florentine is a great little restaurant, with lovely food and attentive, knowledgable and friendly staff. The coffee is ok - not wonderful, but certainly not the worst in the neighbourhood. I'd have it after a meal, but wouldn't go out of my way to get it any other time. The flavour is good, but there is a hint of a bitter after-taste, which isn't to my liking. On the whole, a lovely spot to sit awhile.

Seeing this cafes previous review on Beanhunter with a near perfect score I thought "I gotta check this place out!". So I jumped in the car and made the journey from Heidelberg to Brighton (30kms or so).
I'll start with the positives. The atmosphere is pleasent and the service is very friendly. I can't comment on the food as I only came here to sample the coffee.
I ordered a double ristretto picollo which was served quickly. Unfortunately the coffee was well over extracted and hence there was no room for milk in this little picollo cup. So it ended up being an over extracted long black w...
A wonderful Brighton gem, coffee is beautiful, breakfast is great, lunch and dinner as well. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable. I find it hard to fault it. They have a wide selection of drinks to choose from and a mammoth wine list. Very good operation, highly reccomended!!
