Also enjoyed this place, the staff were friendly and its a nicely kitted out little cafe. The benches running along the windows are great for people-watching as I sipped a pretty well made cappuccino. Would go back again, and I agree with Adam that its the best place that we could have found in Ghent.

Despite the number of countries I've ventured through Europe, I'm still constantly shocked by the poor quality of coffee. Belgium was quite strange, having found numerous roasters (both in Brugge and Ghent) to only have them serving it up on super automatics.
Luckily, Barista is a pretty legitimate cafe. My macchiato was smooth and delicious, albeit a tad hot (mind you there is a heat wave at the moment). That said, it was good. And very welcome!
The cafe itself has a wonderful atmosphere - right on a canal. The food and service is also superb.
