Piccolo. Extraction was good. O.K. flavours. Luke-warm. Staff were flustered despite the lack of customers. 6/10.
The coffee was really good, only criticism was the chocolate brownie we had was on the dry side. This is likely to be a one off I suspect. I look forward to trying this place again in the future.
Atmosphere was nice, staff were flustered and coffee took a long time. Full taste coffee, but not worth the wait.
Cool joint. Cool coffee.
I was walking down the street and saw a sign saying 'Best coffee in St Kilda, according to beanhunter.com'. After seeing this I thought I should stop in. It's pretty good. It didn't blow me away, but it was certainly enjoyable.

I enjoyed walling in and seeing the old Gaggia machine pulling single origin coffee, which was from Kenya. As a short black it had tea like qualities, with hints of spices. Very unique. The latte was absolutely brilliant. A perfect mix of rich coffee and smooth milk.
Stunning Atmosphere and the first time I've run into lever machines outside of Italy, food was absolutely amazing and the coffee was as good, if not better, than what I produce at home (my total unbiased opinion - I own 2 la pavonis and roast my own)
Fantastic Shorty, atmosphere very cool, great service.
These guys make tasty coffee, always consistent and the staff are friendly. Only problem is that it can be quite slow, other than that it's pretty good!
The place has no particular charm except for being on Acland St in St Kilda and the staff were nice enough.
I had a double ristretto piccolo of the house blend (Sensory Lab beans). It had a robust, rich flavour, sweet and acidic with dark chocolate lingering. I give it a 9 because... Read more
A very good milky coffee from friendly staff. Will be back.
There's a new barista working here who is amazing! He gave me a brazil single origin double rizzi yesterday that blew my mind!
Last time I refer friends to this place. My friends were out from London. Not only was the coffee average by their standards which means by Melb std's really poor. But they were charged an extra $4.50 cause they never ate. SHOCKING!!!!!!!
Very good coffee served by knowledgeable barista. I had house blend in flat white which was strong full bodied and flavorsome. My cousin had the coffee of the day which was also excellent.
This place has the same fantastic cakes as Leroys. They appear so very different though, same owner? Leroy is very easy-going, retro, warm, inviting. This place is tre chic, squeaky clean. It almost doesn't belong in St Kilda! Ha! I do like it though. I came here on a date, very seductive... Read more
I also saw Saint Kilda's best coffee sign after Beanhunter's GPS showed me a bunch of cafes in Docklands as the closest options. Just as I was being given my coffee, the GPS caught up and I saw Beeson's review which prompted me to look more closely at the sign only to see as voted by... Read more
Generally pretty average. Coffee was not up to standard, and I thought the staff were quite rude. So many better places to go. I'd avoid this one.
2 Lattes
Coffee was barely hot, a little weak and bitter, even with adding the quirky alternative sugar 'panela' that they have on table. Hope breakfast from their 'new' menu is good.
I had very high expectations coming here but found the place disapointing! Too small and waiters too occupied.. So sad really and the coffee didn't do justice either!:( Rather take tram 72 by Market Lane Coffee instead!
The only thing consistent about 95 is the inconsistency. Amazing coffee some days and ok to below average on others. Staff are slow and depending on the day quite dismissive. This place has great potential. The food is beautiful and reasonably priced. They just need to focus on consistent and more... Read more
Coffee can be excellent, but recently has not been consistent. Service is becoming increasingly slow and a little patronising.
I have been here a few times now, initially the coffee was perfect, spot on but my latest visit left me a little disappointed, the coffee could be hotter, stronger and the service was a little slow.
The food however has been fantastic and a good atmosphere all round, the place is warm and... Read more
Excellent coffee, even better now with their new blend!
Finally somewhere on acland St that serves descent coffee!! I have a beautiful latte made with a brazil single origin pulled through their original 1959 gaggia, smooth sweet and creamy with perfect latte art. Breakfast was generous and delicious. The interior styling is a bit kiddy but i'n all a... Read more
Coffee has potential but was lukewarm and average. The food was really nice but the staff were a bit disconnected and didn't seem to want to be there. The atmosphere was good and location, but not raving about it.
