Great staff. Coffee is very nice. Would come back.
Great coffee and service. After a shocking experience at a cafe down the road from here, i was relieved to find Market Lane actually open on a monday. Toshi made a great short black and flat white, both with great honey and cocoa notes. Just what id expect from these guys.
Market Lane Coffee serves some of Melbourne's best coffee. In amongst the market, this is one of Melbourne's best. Highly recommended.
Nice double Mac and friendly staff.
Given the hype, I had to visit here!
The atmosphere is lovely. Windows everywhere make the place extremely bright. Combine this with soft colours and pale woods, the feel here is warm and friendly. Gentle music in the background helps further. I could have sat here for hours.
Market Lane Coffee is a little gem in the Prahran Market. It took me a while to find this place but when I did I was not disappointed. The coffee is roasted fresh on site once a week and they run a seasonal blend and a few singles. When I rocked up they only had the Seasonal Espresso Blend on offer... Read more
Had been meaning to go to Market Lane for ages based on the feedback of others so was expecting big things !
The fit out is fantastic and a temple to the love of coffee, with products to buy, cards scattered around about coffee and equipment, plus a cupping room.

Dropped into this spot the other day to buy beans, but didn't end up buying one of their cups. Their seasonal blend of beans are quite nice. Nothing offensive. Fortunately, on the Friday just passed, I was able to have try their coffee making skills out. I got a flat white, which ended up being a... Read more
Great looking cafe with great tasting coffee.
I was a little concerned seeing the single origin unrefined sugar on the table that we were in for a bit of coffee wankery, but was relieved to find that really Market lane is young, fresh, and excited about the Melbourne coffee scene. The staff here are keen to tell you about what they do and... Read more
Loved the coffee.
Market Lane Coffee opened a little over a week ago.
I had high expectations, since it was a new venture by Fleur Studd of Melbourne Coffee Merchants - importers of some of the finest coffees to reach this part of the world - but my expectations were far, far exceeded. The fitout and... Read more
This place served me the best macchiato I've ever had. So full of flavour, perfect temperature, and left the most delicious taste in my mouth. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Also just a note that you need to enter off Elizabeth St. Found myself wandering around the market with... Read more
Really nice coffee and a funky place to sit down.
Really nice high quality coffee here, enjoyed a fantastic flat white, service could be a bit more friendly and open to suggestions, found it a bit confusion making my choice of coffee to try and the food, I think some specialty coffee houses are forgetting that great coffee must go together with... 1 Flat White
Always sensational - Jason suggested the Rwandan cup of excellence as a pour over. It had amazing character and a really unique almost dry grapefruit flavor. Best!!!
Absolutely tipping it down with rain the day we were there - kept the spandex tap dancers at bay which meant we could get right into the coffee side of things with the Baristas. Pour Overs, Piccolo's and Shortee's all work from this place. Drank so much coffee here I actually had to go do some... Read more
Simple, yet close to perfect.
I can't quite believe the calm and peacefulness that this space provides at such a short distance from the chaos of Chapel St and the Prahran Market. Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the music playing seemed to come from a more hipster... Read more
1 Long Macchiato, 1 Flat White
Not sure why this place is getting the overly exagerated reviews? ... Maybe it's one of two places these people go for coffee? MacDonald's and here! This place is over priced and under performs. It fits in well with the 10% of Melbourne's coffee spots that think the can charge more than anyone else... Read more
I had a beautiful Kenyan filter coffee, which came with a informative piece of paper with a description of the coffee. Very sophisticated, with all kinds of clever things on offer, my wallet started to hurt so we left.
1 Ristretto, 1 Espresso
This place is excellent. The service is supurb they know that they are talking about. They are happy to explian their coffee. They only do coffee and they do it well.
Rather average, but not terrible. The staff looked as though they were completely bored and the coffee was decent at best. Other than that, the space and atmosphere was pretty nice and open, good if you're wanting to catch up with someone without being too concerned about being packed in with some stranger.
Smooth blend and a great coffee all round, but the complexity was muted by the milk - touch on the hot/thinning side milk-wise which didn't help. Loved the sugar cane extract sugar substitute (not that I'd ever put it in a coffee) - went down a treat in the muffin I had, but not sure why it has to... Read more
