One of the best coffees I've tasted in the cbd. House blend is smooth yet acidic and perfectly bitter. Rotating lunch items are always delicious too.
It's a great hidden little place. Definitely good for a quick stop past. Wouldn't want to sit in though. Loses on atmosphere for that reason.
Cute, but dirty. Very dirty. My espresso was thin and watery, so was my girlfriend's latte. I heard about this one from some reputable sources and so was a little excited to find somewhere so central in the CBD, only to be disappointed by the poor quality.
One of the best cafes in the CBD for sure, the guys at Switch know how to get the most out of the Supreme blend they use. Their set of toasties is also pretty delish, not really substantial but can really hit the spot when you're in the mood. The bulk of the seats are in the alley which is covered... Read more
A brilliant find thanks to Beanhunter! What this cute little back alley style cafe lacks in size it certainly makes up for in quality. I'm definitely coming back next time I'm in the CBD.
One of the smoothest and silkiest latte can be had here. I really enjoyed my first latte I've tried. But unfortunately I don't think they are as consistent as I would like them to be. Once my latte was a bit weak and slightly watery, but still enjoyable. Also, they seem to use different glass every... Read more
We always bring visitors to Melbourne to Switch Board. Cool hole in the wall setting, funky and grungy seating areas.
Consistently smooth lattes. Most friends we have taken there have ended up ordering a second straight after finishing the first.
Every second or third visit it excels... Read more
This place can be a bit hard to find.
Its in the Foyer of the Manchester Unity Building, corner of Swantson and Collins street, past the lifts, towards the filthy alleyway... ;)
All the best places in Melbourne are down stinky alleys.

Short Mac was very average.
A little arrogant, but may be different for their regulars.. A very fine brew..

When I have been Melbourne just for few days work. Thats the one I will come everyday, hide behond a shopping mall, no matter the espresso, cappuccino either caffe latte, all is great, specialy like the glassware & the atmosphere is remarkable too.
What a great cafe, one of my favourite haunts in the city of melbourne. Hamish & Joe make a great coffee, simple and pure without any fuss or bs, two thumbs up.
excellent coffee, just discovered it this week. space is at a premium but given the "kitchen" is smaller than a coffee cart the rest of the place is to scale. staff are friendly and efficient.
Very good coffee. Sitting in the little window booth is cramped but at least there was somewhere to sit that was not in a noisey thoroughfare. Very 'Melbourne'

Cute and quirky
Cute little hole in the wall, coffee was fine , not amazing but good enough but the service was pretty bad.

This is the first place I found when I discovered BeanHunter and I have been wanting to go for awhile. When I first went to go there it was closed unfortunately - like all cafes in Melbourne it is closed on the weekend. I was in town for a school excursion looking at signage in the area and it... Glad this gorgeous Cafe is already on Beanhunter. I recently visited Melbourne and came across SwitchBoard. It was close to our Hotel (Lucky me!) and I visited regularly (Lucky me, again!) My usual Latte was a delight every time. Great Service, Great coffee and an oh so cute cafe. A must visit.
