Great coffee, but mainly for takeaway if your in the area- windowsills isn't that comfy for coffee dates.

Great take away coffee place. The height of coffee simplicity - manual machine, only full strength milk and great coffee every time.

Market lane's new child reminds me greatly of its parent: no skinny or soy, but coffee, coffee and more coffee. If you're lucky, a pastry or two as well.

My espresso was underwhelming. It was a little thin and lacked the zing I've come to expect from third generation cafes.

while my double ristretto flat white was really tasty, the service here gets on my nerves. good thing it's always takeaways, or I'd spend half an hour having incredibly abrupt encounters with the staff.

Perhaps I didn't set it up for success, coming direct from the East Brunswick Project. Perhaps, as my caffeind friend pointed out, my tastes just differ. I'm not really one for light, citrus-y blends and espresso. I mentioned this to the Barista who, to his credit, asked and cared and he was... Read more

I had a doppio in one of their El Salvadorian single origins (can't remember which one *gasp*) and it was beautifully-extracted, liquid gold. Delicious. The berry flavours and light acidity really came through and I was left licking my lips.

However, the whole experience of the cafe... Read more

Newly opened and near the Vic Market. Perfect for the Saturday morning weekly shop.

Smaller than south Melbourne shop but decked out very nicely.

Wide range of beans, coffee styles/methods and friendly staff.

Latte was strong, with nutty undertones and not... Read more

This very small shop next to a busy market with plenty of competition is doing very well. At 10:30 on a Saturday there would have been 10-15 people all drinking Coffee, with full cream milk, with no Soy or Decaf coffee anywhere to be seen.

This coffee shop is just that...a shop for... Read more

These guys are ultra cool and very informative. They have a wealth of knowledge about their coffee, and are more than happy to share it! We tried the Single Origin from Guatemala, which had notes of cherry and a butterscotch aftertaste.
There are no tables here to relax at, so its really... Read more

Coffee is top notch, equal best espresso I've had in melbourne, although fruity/acidic is more to my taste than the earthy/dark Melbourne standard.

The no skim/choc/soy is likewise, but will catch a lot of people of guard. have no complaints myself though, and was with a skim friend... Read more

A quaint and interesting cafe with small bench seats and a great display of coffee for sale. Their espresso was a little watery and thin yet sweet and fruity.

Thank you Market Lane for bringing good coffee to this part of the CBD. It makes a trip to the Vic Market a great Saturday morning outing. Coffee is of a high standard, assuming you don't want soy or decaf or skinny milk. Great options for pour over SO's. Milk-based coffees aren't always to my... Read more

miravalle in a long black, obvious cherry. sweetened up amazingly. I would have preferred an open plan but the range of retail available, including cascara tea was impressive.

the best coffee this side of Londsale Street, absolutely fantastic. its a shame the hipsters that run this place have a little too much attitude... as important as good coffee is, your still only working in hospitality boys, lose the tude!

Great place! Has a really cool feel, I love how simple and effective it is. The service was polite and friendly, can't say much more as I have a sore throat and it's embarrassing to talk. The coffee, a house espresso, was sublime, perfect extraction, will defy make this place a regular haunt.

Had a piccolo in Guatemalan house blend! This had a buttery, nutty flavor, but the milk was a bit watery.

These guys were really careful and one of the best we tried while in the city the blend screamed Guatemalan with solid tang mid palate and lingering finish ... Great job , we will be back when next time in town

The coffee here is fantastic! My pre-market coffee from these guys never disappoints.. takeaways only really, not much sitting space inside. The service could improve a little mind you..
