Solid coffee. Tough to find, but worth it.

Tucked away behind Collins Street, this cafe is a hidden world away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The dimmed lights set the scene, which promote a moody chilled back feel. Coffee is brilliant, both as a black and white (house blend). This place gets busy pretty quick, which is no surprise

Simply amazing coffee! My ristretto was spicy but still very smooth and the piccolo was amazingly sweet and chocolatey! I love the dark moody atmosphere of this cafe. Glad to have a pd session in the city today and experience this place. A must to check out if doing a Melbourne coffee crawl.

Eclipse is a peaceful little place amazingly quiet for the city. Dimly lit bare brick walls are matched with light wood accents, giving the cafe a modern, underground feel.

The service is friendly, and the menu pleasant. There is also a good selection of pastries.

I literally stumbled across this place while visiting Melbourne. After a long day and in need of a quiet refuge from the busy city, Eclispe was the tonic I needed. The smooth coffee, friendly service and warm atmosphere were all exactly what I was after. My latte was smooth, nutty and perfectly... Read more

I stumbled across this little cafe on my lunch break today, I say stumbled as they have no signs outside to suggest that a Synesso would be producing coffees inside.

Eclipse has a beautiful lay-out, welcoming staff and a relaxing atmosphere. It took me a while to find out the name of... Read more

Having only opened a few weeks ago, this cafe is set to be one of the must-visit cafes for anyone looking for quality coffee in the Melbourne CBD. This is a 'concept cafe' from the group that own the Cafenatics chain. They have hired well, with the current Victorian Latte Art Champion, Will... Read more

I visited this cafe at 5pm and I was the soul diner. However, the caffe latte served in the smaller compact cup was truly flavoursome and exquisitely textured. Will, the barista, advised me to come back early in the morning to feel the atmosphere of the place. I certainly will return, not for the... Read more

Definetly the best place that I've been for coffee in Melbourne so far ( I have been to more then half of the big names) Jamie & Kiril bring there own style to town... A bit of what they've learnt in Melbourne a bit of Euro and a bit of Sydney ( Paul Geshos) The set out is my personal favourite in... Read more

At 9am on a weekday morning the cosy space was at capacity with local office workers getting their morning fix. Although it was so busy, the service was excellent which added to the buzzing vibe. I thoroughly enjoyed a long black with their daily single origin (Colombian), acidity with just enough... Read more

This is one very cool cafe with excellent coffee. The que in the mornings tells you this is a serious coffee shop. Staff are fantastic

Had a latte at Eclipse, it was smooth and tasty. It is located in the Intercontinental building, with a street entrance on Flinders Lane. A great alternative away from the Brother Baba Budan end of town.

Excellent coffee - a bit expensive, 3.80 even for a single bean for a double Espresso is about .50 to much, for other places I go.
But it was definitely a very good coffee.

Service was good, decor is very nice.
Hard to find, no signage anywhere - even the menus, nice... Read more

Tucked away in a secluded corner below the Rialto, Eclipse's offerings did not disappoint this curious coffee connoisseur. The limited food menu is comfortable yet adventurous for a quiet weekend breakfast. The decor and ambiance was pleasant with soft music accompanying our dine-in experience and... Read more

Eclipse is around the corner from my office. The atmosphere is nice and situated within the beautiful foundations of the Rialto tower. I must admit the customer service is very amicable. An espresso with a smile.

I love this little "underground" cafe with no signage and an easy to miss front door onto Flinders Lane.
The staff are passionate about coffee and know the intricate details of the individual farms and roasts. Milk coffee is served not very hot, so ask if you like it hot.
    I took... Read more

Tricky to find-go through the hotel to the back left from Collins street. Worth it. Beautiful piccolo, very attentive table service. Will come back for sure.

coffee was great. whilst the temp was perfect, it was not hot, so I agree with previous reviews - if you want it hot, ask for it that way. the queue was huge when I went in. it curled around towards the back and up the stairs. only a small wait to order my take-away flat white, (no sugar) and pay.... This place makes me want to dance.

It's right up at the top with Brother Baba Budan, 65 degrees and Sensory Lab on the grid (and others off the grid)

Coffee's perfect - every takeaway (small, anyway) is a double ristretto so you can taste it, and they'll make sure... Read more

I work very close to Eclipse (entry off flinders lane) so have visited many times.
I do enjoy the coffee, it\'s got a lot of flavour and not bitter. I generally drink skinny lattes, cappuccinos or short macchiatos.
    Service is generally quick.
Staff do tend to have a little... Read more

I walked past this cafe on the way back from a meeting in the Rialto building a few weeks away and yesterday decided that I would make the walk from the corner of Queen St and Flinders Lane - let me tell you that it was well worth the walk.
