I recall they had a different bean last time I was in. I did not realise they were now using Allpress. As with my previous experiences with Allpress, I found the espresso to be a little too smoky and lacking in body.

Lovely little cafe. Quite busy for sunday lunch. My cappuccino was good. Not mind blowing, just a good coffee. It went rather well with my cheese and ham croissants.

Going to this cafe on a Saturday morning is crazy - it is so busy! The staff are quality, very friendly and always keen the help. Coffee was pretty good - well presented and creamy.

Decent coffee. But this place is more an establishment where "one lunches". Weird vibe. But the coffees are always pretty tasty so it's worth a try.

Sister cafe to Snow Pony - there a sense of familiarity from the decor, service style and matching menus. Came here for lunch a while back (it's not going to get into Cheap Eats) and the coffee was excellent. If you're in the neighbourhood, once you find it you shouldn't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, I was expecting more from this place in terms of coffee. Yes the food is great, but like their sister cafe Snow Pony in Balwyn, the quality of coffee doesn't match the reputation.

If you're after a pretty decent coffee though, this place is worth a try. It's a cosy... Read more

Porgie and Mr Jones has won the favour of most my friends, whether they live nearby or not. In fact, my sister likes it so much she suggested we take mum there for mother's day, and my cousin is having her 21st there.

I've been here a few times, and always been happy, without being... Read more

What a find Porgie was....great atmosphere, interesting decor and always busy. The food was amazing- small menu, but very particular and delicious! Coffee went down a treat- smooth, creamy, but a tad on the bitter side. Best cafe in the area though! Worth a visit!

Best allpress in inner east. Great long black, strong crema, smooth flavour and grey aftertaste. Good service, nice vibe, same decor as a hundred other places but nice nonetheless. I'll be back a lot

The vibe here is strange. Pretentious staff leave one feeling like they are doing you a favour by associating with you. Homogeneously snobby clientele which add a lovely sense of irony to the empty communal table. Avoid unless it's on the way...

A bit disappointed after waiting a long time to come here. Coffee was ok, but staff joking around with each other in a very unprofessional manner.

I went into this cafe on great advice expecting a great coffee but was very disappointed. The service was first, waiting a good 10 minutes before getting any. there is one large table and a couple of smaller ones. a very tight and small space but an easy space to service as there were atleast 4... One of my favorite places . Love the food, atmosphere and excellent coffee. Just need to watch out cause it's cash only!! Double ristretto latte is excellent.

Truly loved this place. This was my second visit and I didn\'t walk away disappointed. Great coffee, fun and friendly service, products to walk away with and super decor - I loved the wall plates (Shame there not for sale).

Coffee was well balanced, not too strong and lovely fern... Read more

Milk is perfectly textured. Temperature is ideal too. Had a flat white. The bean could do with a bit more kick. Would suspect that they'd nail a piccolo. Food looked ridicoulsy good and the atmosphere looked equally good. A good spot on the way to the City!

Definately my favourite cafe in Melbourne. The smashed avo with a latte before and after is the perfect way to start any Sunday!! The place is always full which in my books is a sign of a good cafe! The staff are attentive and friendly and the menu and coffees are top notch. Everytime I visit... Read more

The breakfast menu here is top notch. Banana bread to die for and porgies scrambled eggs with goats cheese take it to a new level. So happily the coffee is of the same high standard. You can't go wrong! (Unless you arrive peak time on weekends. Aim for before 10 to jag a chair or to get your... Read more

Ok... so my friend Erin told me for weeks to go to P&MJ. So finally i diverted from my staple few hawthorn cafe's and gave it a go.
To be honest i wasn't that impressed with the food. It tasted amazing, but my serve of scrambled eggs on the tiny piece of bread in hawthorn was not worth the... Read more

Came here for the first time on a busy Saturday at around midday. Staff were friendly, food didn't take long (good quality too) considering how busy it was. Coffee was excellent.

This place has some essential elements to acquit a good coffee. However, I thought the service to be a little pushy and slow. Fair to middling. Too cramped and overpriced. Don't go unless I'm desperate.
