Great coffee in a small (tiny) cafe space. Staff friendly enough.
I always enjoy going to Newtown SC* for a coffee. the coffee is always pretty good whenever i go there - very enjoyable when I think about it - and the lady's are friendly and the foods good if that's what your after. Quirky space and staff. Lovely coffee. Would be a great place to drop in every morning.
I pop in for my morning hit several mornings each week at the moment. Gets me fired up before work. Flat whites are smooth, consistent and well flavoured. Beans sourced from Jasper coffee. They seem to have their own blend. Not had the food so can\'t comment. But do go for their coffee!
Even though my coffee was great probably won't be heading back any time soon. My coffee took longer than the pie ordered by the lady 4 customers behind me, even though the only other drink order was an Earl Grey... Just a little annoying!
Coffee was great while Cate owned it...now, it's ok. Newtown have their own blend of Jaspers coffee, slight hint of chocolate. Cate's food was delicious. I am yet to try the new owners food...although the selection of cakes seems more franchised than home made and rustic as it was previously.
I rate this Soy Latte as the best in Melbourne and imagine all their other styles of coffee match this standard, as it is packed with customers every morning.
The milk is always well established and creamy. Sometimes coffee art but not really necessary as the taste is where its at.
