Bayte, meaning House in Arabic, opened today. Middle-Eastern teapots and tea glasses yield an ambiance suitable for the Middle-Eastern inspired menu. Multiple levels and a courtyard give a nice feel, ruined slightly by loud music.
My coffee was nice without being special.
This is more an eatery than a cafe. The middle eastern feel is very much pronounced from the decor to the menu.
Coffee is by Allpress, and ive always found their coffee to be smokey (not my preference). I found their Columbian single as an espresso to be smokey, without the citrus... Read more
Coffee the first time was great. A lovely little single origin. But I dont think they sold it quickly enough and I had the same one a week later and it wasn't great. probs stale. Tried the Turkish coffee which was nice. The food is great too.
