Always a great place after dinner. Bow tie service is great to see. The two baristas working the giant machines are always flat out and never fail to impress.

For a late night cuppa. It actually goes ok with the desserts on offer. Easy 6. To be honest, the flat white was enjoyable.

I have never had a great coffee here. And i don't say this lightly. I use to go to Cinema Nova every monday with a big group of friends and Brunetti's was our after movie debrief location of choice much to my disgust. Mind you i was going through a latte phase of my life but the coffee was always... Read more

This is a fabulous cafe in Carlton which uses a special blend of Vittoria coffee. I very much enjoy going there, tasting the beautiful food and the great coffee.

This placed looked fairly upmarket by the staffs outfits, but it's actually quite relaxed.

It doesn't have a very cosy atmosphere, being more a restaurant sized cafe. The cakes and such foods looked great.

My cappuccino wasn't that bad. Definitely better than expected.... Read more

Yeah I don't get it. Don't expect much from the coffee. Burnt, over extracted AND too foamy. The cakes are great, but that's it.

Poor for a supposedly authentic Italian coffee experience: the latte was metallic, watery, old, and the espesso was sour, bitter and from what tasted like old beans from an uncleaned machine.....cool place though, shame.

Great cake but that is all.... They didn\'t even tamp the coffee!

DO NOT go to Brunetti's for the coffee. It's terrible. Apparently the cakes are good, but that's not my thing.

The staff are uninterested, but that's probably because they're run off their feet - the place is constantly packed. I cannot understand why. If there's a few of you, it's... Read more

It was word of mouth to go there for a coffee and some cake. The cake was nice, though not cheap re: the size, as for the coffee........my first 2 sips were the reason for me to not go again 

Nice coffee, great food and lovely atmosphere. Some of those pastries look divine. Would happily visit again.

It's hard to disagree with most of the previous reviews, they're pretty spot on. For me though it is about the coffee, and if you don't mind a bit of people watching then it certainly provides that. I would describe the latte I had as being nice and rich in flavour, smooth, with a hint of chocolate taste.

The price of having a reputation- you have to live up to it. Impressive looking on entry, but a crowded, noisy barn. Service at the bar with no eye contact. Maybe I didn't look beautiful enough. The espresso was pretty good, but hard to juggle when I couldn't find a seat.

The coffee was delicious and we did get a flirty waiter which made the experience a bit more fun. I will be interested to see what it's like the next time we go. It was very busy (mid afternoon) & made for a noisy experience.

Consistently good coffee and food. Hard to get a seat though and if you do it is rather squashy. There is no table service, would get a higher rating if it did. Despite this, its busyness is a testament to its good coffee!

Go there for cake but skip the coffee. The coffee is not good. At all.

Amazing place and not only for the coffee- get the Baci rings and watch the Baristas do their thing - a Melbourne institution

The long row of pastries, cakes & slices, barista's in black tie and cyclists lined up out front - if the look and feel of a cafe set the tone for coffee then this place should blow your socks off, but..... on my two attempts the cafe late has been tongue burningly hot and taste resembling... I would be lying if I said this was a great experience. Brunetti Carlton is in a great position, however it is a large cafe, more like a cafeteria, with an atmosphere to match, a lot of staff, but not offering a lot of service. Coffee was OK, but not great, not a lot of consistency with the... Read more

A Melbourne institution, always love visiting brunetti Carlton. Coffee is good (not the greatest) But consistently good with a great array of cakes. Classy atmosphere in the heart of little Italy.

Sad to read all the harsh reviews. Sure there are boutique coffee shops in Melbourne that make a magnificent coffee, but I have always found coffee at Brunetti Carlton (other Brunetti outlets vary) consistently good. Add the cakes and the location and it still makes it one of my favourite haunts!

Disappointed. I get it for the cakes slices etc, but what is the deal with reheating food? And doing it badly. Super hot on the edges and cold in the middle and that is also after asking them to reheat it a second time. I am not going to ask a third time to have my hot food hot. Pathetic! Coffee... Read more
