  I thought I would try a short black from this cafe considering it had some decent reviews. I'm not sure what I'm missing, but I found the coffee to be lacking at best. It may have been due to several variables, and possibly the supreme blend from Allpress just does not suit my palate.

  11:30 on a Saturday and this place (as with everywhere else on Carlisle) is packed. With it's mix of op shop and urban vibes, las chicas seems to exude a playful character which draws people in.

  Service 5 ticks. Coffee 5 ticks. Food yet to tick as I'm waiting for it but have no doubts it will be as good as everything else. Live the refit too!

  I've lived in balaclava for 8 yrs and this spot has never let me down. The service is exceptional- they are never understaffed. Fantastic menu and great coffee. Only downside is the wait for a table on weekends- worth it though!

  I come here because the food is great, but was pleasantly surprised today by a FANTASTIC piccolo. Good latte art, which I find normally is a bit hit or miss with a piccolo. Strong flavour, very enjoyable

  Certainly an insitution on Carlisile Street.   Besides there breakfast being the best thing ever, the coffee is top shelf, their double or single espresso are splended and the service is great with short waiting times even when there flat out, which is always... is that telling you something?
