Great setup, and a few coffees to select from was nice. I tried the Brazilian Pedra Redonda and Carousel blend as short blacks. Both well extracted on the gb5, and the house blend had great stonefruit flavours.

Smooth, creamy coffee with a tang of bitterness and after notes of butterscotch. Great little cafe, no pretentions, but skilled coffee makers.

Had two long macs during brunch and they were very smooth and even bought beans for home!

Coffee and food worth travelling for. House blend is superb. Love the figs with bacon and goats cheese. Attentive staff.

By the apparatus on display, these guys show a reverence indeed for good coffee. It features in Broadsheet, so it makes sense.

I didn't get a chance to try the other incarnations (filter among them), but my cafe latte was quite agreeable to the palate. Smooth, strong, good acidity,... Read more

Fantastic little gem. Open on Cup Day nice and early, subtle shop that really says "we just care about the coffee, nothing more". Friendly staff and prompt service!

despite only having three tables of customers the staff appeared harassed and stressed. the chairs at the bar front of shop were so uncomfortable we had to move. we didnt finish a double short cap or short mac. the cap tasted of cheap warm milk with a hint of coffee. very unusual to not finish an... Very handy location for going to the coffee expo last week end. Breaky and a kick starter before the big days. Well worth it. I am loving the mushrooms and cheese in toast, great combo! Ohhh competition coffee, how lucky am I?! so good indeed.

Coffee was acceptable but the food was tragic. They didn't like it when I told them so. If you are going to charge me $16 for 2 pieces of toast, some dry bacon, 3 figs and some goats cheese it better be good. Its a shame, Union Rd needs some competition.

Atmosphere was lacking, coffee was good food wasn't that great, very uninspiring, I'd rather go to Streat on racecourse road and pay the same amount of money for way better quality food, service and atmosphere. Won't be visiting again.

No part of this cafe seems to have total focus, rather everything is equally important. The menu has a bit of everything and changes seasonally, the coffee is roasted in-house with their own blend and single origins, the teas are made to time and temperature restrictions, the sweets are homemade,... Had probably the best coffee I can remember ever having today, the El Salvador was amazing. We had 7 coffees between us today and didn't want to leave!

Sensational coffee here. I've now been many times, and they are consistently good. The service is excellent and the food not bad either. Best coffee in Ascot Vale.

Food was tasty, service was friendly, and a nice homely vibe to the place. Coffee was great. I had a short black to start, I believe an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. After that a house blend strong flat white, very creamy and buttery. My friend had a Kenyan pour over which I tried, I'm not much of a... Read more

Had the hot cakes today, I normally only eat crepes, but I thought I try them any way. I was surprised they were fluffy enough, had lemon curd on them with some berries. Busy sunday arvo here, not slow though, good staff and really ace coffee! Thanks

Beautiful coffee! Such smooth lattes, it is good to have a really decent coffee in Ascot Vale! I had the pie of the week, tasty lamb pie always goes down well, nice and crunchy top and had a rich filling, beautiful.

The place looks great and the chairs remind me of primary school,... Read more

Now, I don't normally write reviews, but this place deserved it I think...
New place so a few hiccups here and there is fine by me.
The food is pretty ace, some minor tweaking could make it awesome.
I had the chicken sandwich and my wife had the breakfast roll.
