Consistently the best coffee in Melbourne. No exaggeration! Specialty, artisan-style coffee places seem to open up in Melbourne on a weekly basis and I try most of them. Rarely do they come close to Cellar Bar standards or blend. This is the place for a full-bodied cup with excellent cream and foam. Young baristas would do well to watch some of the more mature Italian gents make a coffee at this place. Enjoying a well-made coffee at the Cellar Bar always reminds me that there is no excuse for bad coffee.

Boring blends... For my pallete. Maling Room is one of a zillion places that do well-made, artisan- coffee that, well, lacks punch... Where you need to order 2 coffees to feel like you've had a caffeine hit....
    Great for afternoon coffee however...

Consistently excellent coffee that has a nice full-bodied kick. The wait for a take-away is not for the faint of heart though! Waits of 5 minutes are not unusual, which wouldn't be so bad if there were somewhere to wait! There is no room to move in this place and nowhere to stand that isn't in a direct line of traffic. The food is reasonable if a little overpriced. However, for coffee, it's the best in the outer-east.
