This place is great! I've only just visited after a year of living in Northcote, and I've definitely been missing out.

The winter food menu is really interesting, avoid pretty much all of the Melbourne café clichés. It was almost a relief to find no trace of a 'smashed avocado' option.

Upon first presentation, my Magic appeared a little lacklustre, with no latte art to speak of. But I needn't have worried - the texture was perfect, and the overall taste and finish of the a Proud Mary beans was really nice. Smooth, caramel, with a little bite of citrus in there too. Much more balanced than some of the coffees I've had at Proud Mary, in fact.

I immediately ordered a second, and I'm sure I'll follow those up a few more in the near future.

Great double espresso from AXIL beans ex-Costa Rica I think. This cup was intense and sharp but without being bitter. Top quality as usual.
