  Was in Hobart for the day, forgot to check Beanhunter first, but saw this place and it was packed. As we own a Laundromat and I'm a coffee nut....it was irresistable, we had to try it!

  Very cool place. Don't be put off from the outside look. Very cool inside-retro. Coffee amazing. Food fantastic, a little twist on most things. Glad we made the effort to get here.

  i recently joined bean hunter so i could express my views about coffee, in fact i came to tassie for dark mofo and am travelling around the top cafes listed.... How is this place rated for coffee?????

  Second time I've been here and has not disappointed. This time around the place was jammed packed and still managed to get served quickly. Food is consistent and so is the coffee considering how tiny the kitchen is and the barista is only operating a two group marzocco!

  A reasonable sized cafe/restaurant in a bustling square, machine laundry stands out as the more laid back and funkier option with it's neon signage and retro furniture.

  This cafe was packed, inside and out, why?. Decor, concrete floors, retro laminex table and chair, all in 60's colors. Large alfresco area, over looking the Salmanca Sq.   Had a very silky latte here, the milk was really beautiful. Breakfast was delicious. Service was good. Washing machines were unnerving but kind of cool, I guess.

  Ordered a doppio espresso and was quite surprised by the quality. I asked about the beans and the barista told me that it's their own blend and roast. Hint of citrus and lovely, lingering taste. I didn't expect a good coffee on this trip, but found one.

  Fantastic. Coming from Melbourne I did not expect much, but I have found one. Exceptional creamy latte. So good I had a repeat. Found my morning coffee spot.

  Machine is one of the busier cafes in Salamanca Square and was named one of the coolest places on the planet by British Magazine Arena in 2007.   Awesome cafe, brilliant weekend hangout with great food (particularly the eggs Benedict), coffee is good but not the main attraction. My favourite Hobart cafe.

  Espresso was good, with notes of menthol and tart plum with a sparkly finish. Milk base was just a wall of chocolate. Had the 'fat boy' great combination of flavors, and good size for the price. Only coffee worth tasting in Salamanca Place. Quality cheap place for breakie or lunch

  Never had a coffee here be caused I never get served. Been here on 3 occasions. They didn't serve us because we did not want full breakfast. 2nd and 3rd occasion, too busy to acknowledge our existence.

  Great breakfast or lunch venue with good selection of meals. Sit inside to enjoy the simple retro interior or at one of the many outdoor covered tables. Coffee beans from Tasmanian Coffee Roasters Rainforest Alliance
