Happy Cup, happy life. Always impressed when I go here... Pitty the location means you nearly get run over when you have to cross the road...
Great new premises across the road from origin - great atmosphere - always busy - polite but distant customer service - I am determined to like this place, just because of what it means to the coffee industry in Adelaide, but I am yet to get a coffee I have enjoyed and have always struggled to find... Drinkable coffee. Nothing to go out of the way for.
We went to Adelaide for the TDU and went in search of a good coffee. Good on the basis that we use Brother Baba Budan in Melbourne as the yard stick. Bar 9 was on our hit list and we were highly impressed. Coffee was silky and smooth with great milk texture. We had 2 rounds each of flat whites and... Read more

Fantastic everything. The new Bar 9 is probably slightly less hipster-friendly now that it sports things like 'tables' and 'leg room' bit the coffee is consistently great, the staff is friendly and prompt and the atmosphere is great. Best coffee in that area.
Not sure why people are knocking bar 9 or what cafes in Adelaide they think are better. These guys have been around a while and whilst I preferred the older location for a chat with the baristas, their espresso is sublime and consistent. I've been offered numerous new blends to try whilst there... Read more
Just a run of the mill standard coffee, nothing special, although I couldn't really fault it! Could've been a touch stronger, milk could've been a touch cooler, the bean flavor is a bit on the grainy side, but that could've been the shot pour I couldn't really tell! At the end of the day it's... Read more
another day in bar 9, the picollo i had tastes so much better, must be because of the different blend they had, moved to the espresso it was fruity and complex and finish of with the syphon! fantastic honduras coffee. and the scrambled eggs with blue swimmer crab was devine! great experience!
1 Piccolo, 1 Espresso, 1 Syphon
Ventured here with the family whilst on holidays.
Had a flat white and ristretto, together with a breakfast wrap and was very impressed all round. Lots of love going into the work here (food and coffee) which is great to see, and as others have said you can grab a syphon also.
Consistently good coffee. I always expect a little something different with the flavours and am rewarded. The larger shop lends itself a lot better to a cafe concept. communal tables, cosy 2 seaters and larger seat-benches look pretty good and are functional too.
Really enjoy the vibe of the... Read more

One word... wow. Tried the syphon brew first. The claim was it\'s different, it\'s more than that. It was a great experience. I chased the syphon with a short Mac... Excellent... Adelaide can be proud and hold it\'s head high... full marks
Always great single origin blends at Bar 9, food is absolutely amazing and served with a smile, very component baristas as well as amazing customer service skills. All round a great place to spend time with friends :)
Over the weekend I popped into Bar 9. What a busy place. The vibe was cool. The coffee was great but the service was lacking. Not sure I would make it one of my regulars because I had some trouble getting a park.
2 Skinny Cappuccinos
I'm from melbourne and in Adelaide playing the fringe fest. I was SO pleased to find an incredible coffee here. 5 senses, lovely single origins, it would definitely be up there with all my favorites from home. Fantastic work guys! You've made my caffeine hits for the next two weeks very satisfied.
Cant say i loved the place. With such a good rep i expected a lot more but was let down. Coffee was average and the lack of customer service turned me off. The place looks half finished (from my understanding it is?) and sipping my coffee with construction in the background isnt appealing!
Went to Bar 9 the other day for b'fast. We were welcomed as per usual with a smile!
Served this time at the table for coffee, which was a bit confusing as then i needed to get up to order food. Food was prompt and excellent, coffee outstanding although the barista was quite reserved in... Read more

I love bar 9, Ian and his crew are always informed and friendly and ready to discuss coffee. The actual coffee is delicious and basically made to order. It's great they have such a wide range of coffees.
My work team regularly travels here from town for "meetings". I have either a long black or a long macchiato and find they are consistently good. They do seem to vary quite a bit though between good, great and fantastic.
I've never had the food but it looks good. I like the atmosphere... Read more
The best coffee I have had in Adelaide so far. Great "tweaked" 5 senses beans, a knowledgable, passionate bloke in Ian and a FREE, unrequested baby-chino. Nice one.
Exceptional coffee, passionate service. Parking a little tricky on a busy day. Ian is a gun and well worth a chat to.
Ok cool place.
The café has a synesso with two grinders (compak). They have syphons (must be a growing thing in SA), drip filters and an Ice brewer on display.
We had a short black pulled through a little piston machine at the back. The body was mind blowing.
Amazing coffee, amazing breakfast, cool atmosphere and great decore. This little place will definitely see me again!
Tucked away on bust Glen Osmond Road, Bar 9 has a relaxed, organic edge and serve consistently great coffee. If you are a cibo fan, don't bother, this is real coffee - in real wash up cups!
Espresso - Synesso Cyncra. Lever Piston - Rancilio Z8
