The only trouble I had with Origin was finding it! As a traveler, looking for quality coffee, it was a bit of a mystery. However, once I got there, the coffee was very nice. It was a strong blend and settled nicely on the palate. Also, I loved the relaxed atmosphere and funky vibes.
Great to know that we can rely on this place for a great coffee whilst here on holidays. Sometimes seaside towns are a bit hit'n'miss; but after stopping by for some perfect iced coffee and cap's this morning, we'll be likely to return tomorrow and the next day.

Great coffee roasting house. As good as you will get this far North Queensland. Coffee blend has good round, smooth flavour even when produced as latte given that the climate is so humid and hot.
Smooth and reasonably flavourful coffee. Not a hint of bitterness but a little too milky for my tastes. Given that this cafe is in a tourist strip I was truly surprised at the quality though.
A fabulous little cafe for our trip to PT!
This was my stop after landing in Cairns today and I wasn't disappointed. Great takeaway flat white. Can't wait to go back for a sit down.
Great coffee and cool cafe but just encountered a pair of super aggressive and rude staff behind the counter. I'm on holiday and spending $4 on coffee - I don't need to be barked at! And worse they were yelling at eachother! Terrible experience.
Yes, this place is the real deal. Great espresso, sweet and intense. It's as good as anything I've come across in Sydney and Melbourne. Very consistent.
I don't understand why soy drinkers aren't respected with decent soy milk. Soy drinkers are still serious coffee people. This place had Soy Milky?? what kind of serious barista uses that kind of soy?
by far the best coffee in port douglas but in saying that pretty much anything beats most of the coffee places in port douglas. coffee is good for where it is but not great.Owner is a little arrogant i found but thats just my opinion.
It is telling that the barista hails from melbourne... The coffee was made just like a coffee should be. This became our regular place to get coffee while is port Douglas.
What a surprise, wasn't hopeful for a great coffee in the far north, but very pleasantly surprised. The staff were super friendly and the single origin beans made for a superb experience.
Visited Origin every day for about 4 months. Never disappointed. Awesome service, awesome coffee, knowledgable owners. They also just got a new roaster to keep up with the demand for in house roasted beans. Don't worry about visiting the Great Barrier Reef when in Port Douglas, this is the only... Read more
This is an excellent coffee house, coffee is full bodied, smooth and has great crema. I would recommend this cafe for an enjoyable coffee.
I admit I'm a coffee snob and am fussy with the way I drink my latte's. The staff at Origin are just fantastic, accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. By the 2nd day of me coming in, they had my order down pat. The coffee was always consistent, freshly roasted and smooth. I highly... Read more

Hate to go against the grain but these guys deserve a higher rating.. I like my coffee black and they nailed it! Great full flavor and no bitterness. Staff were knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.. Coffee was out in about 2 minutes too.. So what more can I say, I'm happy this morning
Best coffee in port douglas..
Went here in search of the most decent coffee to be found in Port Douglas. Great coffee. Only comment is that service can be quite slow but worth the wait! If you Seek a smooth velvety & strong coffee then this is the place for you. Would be great if they added BONSOY to their Milk range (hence... Read more
