Do yourself a favour and head next door to 52 Espresso. The piccolo I drank was a poor example of the 3rd Crack beans so wonderfully tasty through Uncle Joes. Milk was tongue-burn hot and shot underextacted. I only had a couple sips
Had a wonderful visit to Canvas and was delighted with my piccolo. Great service and love the quaint atmosphere. The barista seems to have a genuine fondness of his customers and always great to see regulars coming through the door.
Canvas has the look that matches its beach location. Bright colours and an airy feel. It looked like a nice place to grab a quick coffee. The prices stumped me (2 espressos = $7...steep). They arrived and the crema has a nice caramel colour and was quite viscous. The taste was sublime. At the... Read more
If I was a football coach and Canvas espresso was playing on my team, I would award them the most improved player award for 2012. Seriously! In a year when Gold Coast superstar Canteen (deservedly) received unforseen accolades, Canvas espresso kind of snuck in under the radar. But these two... Read more
Light, relaxing and really good coffee. Canvas use 3rd Crack coffee-one of the best around. They've got a small range of cakes and savoury goodies that are much better than the usual stuff out there. Good place for gift shopping and some interesting art by the owner on the walls.

Definitely 'Deluxe' beans - very nicely done without the finer nuances that they are capable of though. One hand tied behind their back as they only serve coffee in take away cups and the cup taint became particularly evident after 4 or 5 sips. Disposable cups are a personal hate of mine and most... In the Nobbys precinct this is by far the best option for coffee. They use Deluxe Boutique Coffee (roasted by Brendan Elcham from Canteen). Smooth full bodied coffee. Nice people running the place.
2 x Shorties 'delicious'
A rose among the thorns of terrible brews in nobbys. The space is fresh and clean.
The coffee 'deluxe' new to GC coffee scene is a really smooth and sweet. My only spot for a brew in nobbys
So I had a chance twice this week to visit Canvas again. And both times left me very impressed. Two different Barista's, different times of day...afternoon coffee on Sunday and a morning coffee on Tuesday. It was busy Sunday afternoon, so there was a bit of a wait. Tuesday I was in and out in... Read more

This place confuses me. No where to sit and coffees in takeaway cups almost urging you to leave. Sad because it is a cool place
Lovely location here, we sat outside with the sea breeze. The coffee was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the shop was lovely both inside and outside.

Coffee is so damn good!!!
I've had coffee four times at Canvas over the past few weeks. The coffee has been consistently good, not bitter. Good, friendly service too.
Have visited Canvas twice now... Really pretty little place off the highway... They are using the same coffee as the guys at No Name Lane....the cakes are delish
They know how to make coffee!! Good, really good!! The best place to get a decent coffee in Nobbys so far!!
Easily the best coffee in snobbys. My takeaway dbl fw was nice. Well presented and flavorsome. Interesting arty feel to the store. So much to look at, with so little time that I had to wait. What puts this place above the rest in snobbys are the staff. I have found all to be into their coffee, not... Read more
Really nice coffee, great atmosphere! Love the big leather lounge and concert posters all over the wall!
We popped in for brew, don't really like the atmosphere, too much going on that's non coffee or cafe related for my coffee time. People are friendly, don't know much about coffee though. Coffee was solid, definitely the best at the Nobby shops. My piccolo was carefully made, sweet, well put... Read more
Perfect ristretto, great music and pastries are "guilt free" size.
We came here for coffee every morning, early, before 7am (great for morning folk!) for a few days and drank consistently full bodied, delicious coffee.
The menu is limited, but the food products are fresh, wholesome and delicious. The staff are friendly and efficient. Very highly recommended.
I must have walked past this place 100 times before I realised that they did coffee. Grabbed two latte on the weekend and was very impressed with my first cup. Awesome looking art and some nice easy drinking flavours. So good I grabbed a second one, but that was less that impressive. The art was... Read more
For a while there I didnt know if this was an art gallery or a cafe... But glad I ventured in the coffee is really nice and though the artsy fit-out can be a little intimidating (not wanting to sit on something your maybe not supposed to) the coffee I had here was probably the best in Mermaid!

Most of the time would stop by to grab a coffee before going to surf. nice staff and very helpful. I can just txt and my coffee will be ready when i get there. You cant get any better service than that. And coffee is consistently good
1,2,3 piccolos later and I'm having a great day.
