Came back again, the coffee was great, although still a little too strong for my taste. The decor inside has changed as they are now open nights and it looks good. I very much enjoyed my visit!

I didn't think you could get quirkier coffee house, but it seems to be the case with this place, but to be honest it just looks like a glorified tip. Yet coffee and service where good, but I have no need to come back.
Coffee took ages to arrive then wrong, 2nd. attempt luke warm but tasty. Service by waitress who looked bewildered. Owner oblivious tapping away on facebook. Toilet disgusting, it all needs a god clean.
What a fascinating place Gov's Espresso is – and so “un-Gold Coast”. As you approach from the Gold Coast highway, it looks like a little old beach shack. And then it gets more interesting as you enter - there’s a massive collection of bric a brac you could spend hours exploring. Out the... Read more
Does not fail to disappoint. Had the house blend on a single ristretto piccolo, and it was smooth and delicious. Easily up there with the best coffee on the Coast, and such a cool fitout.

I have been going to Gov's for a while and I really like the vibe of the place. They are currently doing some form of renovation to their original premises, however, you can still enjoy a coffee in their open air section, which used to be the old garden store. Additionally they have added a kid's... Read more

Like the decor and the coffee was pretty good. Happy to return.
A good place a read the paper and its somewhere different. The coffee was ok but not great.
The coffee here is definitely more miss than hit for me. It always seems quite weak and it's never quite hot enough. I much preferred the atmosphere before the refurb.
Had a really pleasant take-away latte last week from Gov's. Coffee was a beautiful colour when I opened the lid and the milk was very well textured. From the below reviews it was very surprising and absolutely awesome :)

Coffee wasn't the best Ive had but not the worst. What sells this place is the place itself. Cool vibe and fun to sit around in. Was a nice breeze blowing through the passion fruit vine where we sat. Good on a hot day.
Such a lovely place... Everyone is a bit critical about this place if you ask me - I had a lovely coffee with mum the other day - couldn't complain one bit and breakfast was so nice. GO GOV'S!

Coffee was ok, nothing to rave over. Service was terrible. The toilets were so absolutely disgustingly foul I almost dry wretched. Dirty, filthy cafe. I felt like I didn't want to touch anything.

My coffee was good. The atmosphere is definitely different and a real adventure to explore the different rooms and decor. I like the quirky touches. Definitely revisiting this one.
Great setting with plenty of things to admire. Great coffee too. Lovely!
We go there for our kids and coffee, coffee tastes a bit strong for me even with milk but I like the atmosphere and their lemon tart, sometimes not so good but normally you can taste the real tangy lemon flavour.
The coffee is very very good. It's consistent in brew and taste; made with love and cheeky smiles.
The atmosphere is chilled-out and friendly, the staff are irresistible and happy to be there.
A wonderfully curious assortment of retro and vintage bric-a-brac provides a fascinating... Read more
Didn't live up to the hype. Coffee was flavorless and service ordinary.
worst cafe i have been to on the coast...poor service followed by poor coffee...my 3 year old found a knife in the sandpit amongst the other children...i do not recommend!!!
I love this cafe shop. The staff are kind and do good service. I think many selection for vegetarian. He draw a picture in cappuccino.

I'm not quite sure why this unique establishment has received such disparaging reviews. The atmosphere is second to none in the Gold Coast. There is plenty of save for families with a lovely sandpit. But if you want a quite spot to read a book, you will find little corners with unique... Read more
Who couldn't love Gov's. Great coffee, vintage stuff for sale, comfy chairs and a great caged area for bubs and mums where nothing's breakable and screaming isn't met with glares of distaste. Highly recommend the spinach & chees muffins. Strange though that a cafe welcoming of the underaged... Read more

I was keen to check out the new fit out and coffee at Gov's Espresso. I was pleasantly surprised at all stops. Service was efficient and friendly, and the coffee hit the spot. Full bodied and sweet, nutty aromas, one of the few cafes on the coast where sugar on tables is really just for show! A... Read more

Ignore the naysayers - Gov's is brilliant! They do a fantastic job with the Supreme Roasters beans. I had a 1/2 strength piccolo on the single origin, and it was indeed supreme - very chocolatey, rich in flavour. The interior is a sight to behold, a lovely mess of antique furniture, and I see... Gov's is a cute little place, they have nice coffee, but it's very strong. The baristas also seem to take their coffee-making seriously, and the coffees come out one by one and slowly. Most of the staff also seem very egotistical.
