Three Monkeys has subdued lighting with lots of different areas to hang out, each being unique and adding to the character of this cafe. The coffee is smooth and drinkable. It isn't consistent, but still enjoyable. As mentioned in other reviews, I would agree that the coffee isn't amazing. It is... Read more
What a great atmosphere: many small rooms plus a garden. Not to mention that the place was packed full!
The service was a little sub-par -- friendly, but nothing special. And with coffees costing $3.75, there's room for improvement.
The coffee itself was quite good:... Read more
Will admit the prices are slightly excessive for the area and its not neccessarily validated by a magnificent specialty coffee. However, its such an amazing atmospher and great place to relax with the family of a weekend.

Hard to come here and not have the massive bowl of chai. Coffee doesn't seem to be the focus of the establishment but it's a great place to relax in this part of town.
This place has a great atmosphere and i've had some good nights out talking the night away with friends here.. the coffee is a little sub standard though.. a bit mild or something.. not much kick. if i were to return i would have to try an espresso or long mac.. the staff were struggling to keep up... The Three Monkeys is the type of cafe that you go to for the atmosphere and a secluded nook to chat or relax in. The coffee is ok, certainly drinkable, but it's really not what this place is about. Food and service are fine too.
Excellent atmosphere, great tea, good food, nice cake, pleasant service but not good coffee. If you want a nice feed and a chai or other tea Three Monkeys is amazing! But the coffee is really bad. I barely finished my bitter flat white. Milk was more latte than flat white and too hot. Not much good... Read more
1 Skinny Flat White
The coffee is not great, nor is their food, but it's great to have a coffee shop open past 4pm, sometimes it's nice to go out for a coffee after a movie etc, and that's what the three monkeys is good for.
I love this little cafe, which is why it saddens me to say, the coffee isn't great. If you're looking for an intimate cafe with a great atmosphere and lots of little nooks and crannies, this is the place to go. They do amazing chai tea that comes in a soup bowl cup. However, if you're after good... Read more
The coffee is less than impressive so I'd recommend a blackcurrant milkshake over a chinwag in the chilled back area. I live around the corner, so when working late in to the night I like to treat myself to a visit just before they shut.
Cool eastern looking coffee shop. Feels very cosy. the coffee is ok, its the best coffee shop open at night.... the food is better than the coffee. Overall its a great place to catch up with mates....
Pfffff.... I just dont understand it sometimes I wonder why cafes even try. One of the most plastic fake comercial coffee's cheapening the australian market. cafe was run down and felt diry was epecting more ....

A great place after your standard hour coffee shops have closed. You can get great food and a great coffee when the options come down to this or your commercial 'coffee club' option.Unfortunately everyone else has discovered this and getting a seat or being lined up out the door is common place.... 2 Flat Whites, 2 Lattes
Great atmosphere to hang out with a group of friends. They have a range of board games which you can help yourself to as well. The coffee was average and varies depending on what time of the day you go. The cakes a good, but quite expensive.
Very cool. Bowl of latte is the go.
Disappointed. Havn't been here for awhile and seem to remember it being much tastier. Latte looked like pavlova and tasted like instant coffee. Food was overpriced for what it was (foccacia). The vibe is still nice but thats not enough as you can find that elsewhere. Positive was the smoothie... Read more
Spent many a late night hitting this place for a fix. Open late. Coffee isn't too bad.
This cafe is proof that if a cafe has great atmosphere people will flock to it. The coffee is average at best and the service leaves a lot to be desired. I normally don't like to write negative reviews but the fact that this place is always packed has amazed me for a long time. The one thing I will... Read more
A patchwork of cool little rooms, mood lighting and a few places to sit outside. Great atmosphere, maybe a little claustrophobic when it's busy. Good coffee, food, cake-type sweets, that always seem reasonably priced.
Very vintage cafe but I wouldn't call this place a cafe where they serve good coffee.
Nice place to chat with friends but not for food and coffee.
Cakes were nice but they were too expensive and not worth it.
My friend had a huge chai latte as it was quite famous but she didn't... Read more

Sooo I was a Brisbane cafe virgin, until, one day my friend came along and said 'hey, let's check out this monkey place'.. To cut a long story short, the chai tea latte was unavailable, but I had a succulent BOWL of hot, brewed chai, seasoned with fresh honey right from the bee, with a delicate... Read more
The coffee wasn't made that well. The beans were burnt and as a result my long mac was overly bitter, although I still managed to finish it I guess. You can't fault the atmosphere or food though. Awesome toasted panini's.
1 Long Macchiato
Not a bad atmosphere, coffee was ok a bit burnt and the staff seemed very young and a little rude with handling their patrons. But it has a lot of potential.
Good coffee, good food and good service
Love the atmosphere. Makes good coffee yum!
