Ordered an espresso on the Aceh. Not only was it great, the barista brought out two cups containing each side of the split with the intention for me to try both sides of the extraction. I drank both, tasted the various characteristics the aceh had to offer and I'm pleased to say I will definitely... Read more

Thank you guys delicious coffee I'll be back
Blackstar coffee is incredible. Honestly the best flat white I've ever had. Their cold press coffee is also amazing!! This place is a must for coffee lovers!!
Fairly reasonable. I've only had takeaways but they've been ever so slightly burnt each time.
Would have to say this place is the best in Brisbane. The coffee is so good! Is also in a good spot. I will be back when in Brisbane for sure.
This is an informal and atmospheric little cafe. The coffee is very nice, but it is the cold press iced coffee that is most outstanding. Sweet, milky and very more-ish. This is also sold at the West End Markets. Highly recommended!

I don't want to be a hater... but our coffee this morning was fairly average. My espresso was less than memorable, and we tried a cold press only to find out it was pre mixed with maple syrup. (I guess we could've checked, but were working under the assumption that it would be straight cold... Read more
1 Espresso, 1 Cold Drip
Been coming here a long time and coffees have always been good to great. But.... yesterday..... OUTSTANDING! Absolutely bucketing down with rain, coming in sideways, sat there getting slightly wet even with the rain sheets down and had one of my most memorable coffee experiences ever. Well done... Read more
Good coffee, community atmosphere and a range of freshly roasted beans to take your fancy. They can get pretty busy so it can take a while to get yor order.

It’s an interesting vibe at Black Star. It reminded me of being in Byron Bay – not the 2011 Byron Bay overrun with tourists and becoming increasingly upmarket, but the very alternative Byron Bay of yesteryear much closer to Mother Nature. Perhaps a similar trend is also happening in West End... Read more
Thought I'd give this a go. Coffee just didn't do it for me the flavor just wasn't for me. Table and chairs a little to much on the retro weathered side. I'd like to try another blend next time I'm in, as this place seems to be quite popular with the locals.
Wrote a review of Black Star about a year ago...thought I'd update a bit now. I still love this place however the thing they just haven't got right is their wait-time! I'll often choose another joint down the road due to how long you have to wait for a coffee! Still good latte's but probably my #3... Read more
Great coffee! Use a la Marzocco machine and use it well. The bean is tasty without being over bearing. A slight bite at the end but very good. I agree with the service though it is a bit slow. Although I like the feel of the place
You will find Blackstar Coffee Roasters in a modest building just off Vulture Street at West End, where they have been located since the late 2000s. The cafe has a real ‘West End’ vibe with a mix of clientele and eclectic fittings. The seating area appears to be more open and inviting since we... Read more
1 Flat White, 1 Mocha, 1 Piccolo
After much hype from friends I finally hit this place up one afternoon. Blackstar roast their own beans and so I expected a lot. Numerous friends buy the beans to use in their own machines at home and they are always a good strong cup.
As for my cappuccino at the cafe, it was nice.... Read more
I got a chance to pop into the Blackstars alley cart on Alfred Street in Fortitude Valley on there second last day of trade before closing up shop for renovations. Like its West End location the Valley shop wasn't any easier to spot. Never the less I was greeted by a friendly staff member who was... Read more
One of my favorite cafes in West End. Very relaxed and friendly place. Dog friendly also. Coffee here is always on the strong side, so if you love mild and smooth, you may not enjoy this one much. But people like me, this place is a heaven. Cold press reminds me of my childhood memory - sweet and... Read more
5 Skinny Flat Whites, 2 Cold Drips
Awesome Roastery Cafe. Passionate about their beans n brews. Well worth a visit for their blend and single origin. Cool;)
Very good coffee ... good strong hit and lovely smooth chocolate after taste. Funky feel and good breakfast food too - try the brekkie pita - brilliant. The takeaway Cold Press is as good iced coffee as you'll find anywhere.

Make nice coffee.. Kinda place when it\'s on your coner you go.. but I wouldn\'t be travveling distance to go there!
A fine coffee, fresh and delicious. If in need for a quick takeaway, however, you may be waiting a little while. Will be back when I have more time to sit. Cheers :)
Pretty impossible to beat in Brisbane. No pretense. Excellent coffee and if you're lucky the aroma of the roasting will waft by as you enjoy the finished product...
Beautiful coffee. I'll be back soon.
Coffee was okay, food was okay, atmosphere was average, service was average. I left feeling a little underwhelmed. Seems to be popular with the locals though.
Best coffee I have ever had. Consistently sweet and flavoursome. After you have blackstar you will need to rethink what you thought you knew about coffee. The beans are roasted on-site, and are certified Fairtrade and organic. Brilliant.
