The skinny flat white was ok.. Not bad, not great. Also not a big fan of the piece of paper as a plate. Overall could be improved

On Saturday morning we took a nostalgic trip to one of Brisbane's original (and best) “hole in the wall” cafes – Jamie's Espresso Bar. In the mid-2000s when I was living and working around James St in New Farm this was my regular morning stop and I still have very fond memories of those... Read more

A great little sidewalk espresso, Jamie's is very busy with foot traffic going by - which is really something with some other high calibre cafes only a stroll away (e.g., Campos and Merlo). Consistently good, Jamie's is a strong blend. Seating is limited and not highly appealing - it really is... Read more

Consistently high quality coffee with a smooth first taste and a chocolate finish. Great early morning spot - attentive & friendly staff and a happy vibe. Basic, satisfying breakfast and later in the day there's grown up drinks & bar snacks. A neighbourhood institution that hasn't lost its mojo.

Glad the coffee was good otherwise this guy would not be there. Grumpy surly barista who seems to believe that we are there to put up with him. Dont like to whinge but its my money and my order and that is the way I like my coffee so if he doesnt want to deviate from the norm maybe a more menu... Read more

As back to basics as can be; made the trip here for a takeaway after several recommendations. I can't fault their coffee, however I had to overlook the state of the steam wand and its dried milk to take my first sip. The service is baisc, and the place is okay for a quick stop off, but I wouldn't... Read more

This was a simple little coffee shop, not boasting to much and offering a lot, with good coffee and great service.

An institution. Serving great coffee before Brisbane had great coffee. Atmosphere second to none.

Always loved Jamie's from back when I lived in Brisbane 2002-06. Great to see the quality is still up to par. Coffee is full of flavour. New breakfast menu is simple and satisfying. Goodness done well.

In Brisbane on Business and walking around trying to find Campos but cam across this little hole in the wall early one morning and thought I would give it a go... Big mistake. I was the only customer and it looked like they had just opened. I asked for a strong latte and watched the barista (whom I... Read more

The coffee is strong, and full of flavour - especially when it's Jamie behind the machine. My flat whites are always smooth too, with good milk texturing. Jamie's not one for pretty patterns - he's all about getting the fundamentals right - and that philosophy resonates in his coffee.

Coffee is nice and strong with thick crema, every time.. Really leaves you with that "Ahh" satisfied feeling. Always very happy with the quality and service.

It's worth traveling for. Yes Jamie can be grumpy, I couldn't care less. Coffee is amazing.

I love it here! The only reason I go that side of town is to go to Jamie's. Usually spending up to 3 hours a time just hanging out round the side or at the bar chatting to the radical staff and yes Jamie. I don't think he's a grump. He's cool. the coffee is brilliant and the cups are the perfect... Read more

A thin shot poured into a cold cup... Maybe bad luck... However, a bad shot can escape through some poor supervision but a cold cup!? Not a fan.

Not fancy. No gimmicks. Coffees only comes in one size. No flavours. It's really just about coffee and the coffee is great. Saturday morning atmosphere is communal and weekdays it's busy and serious. Jamie has been here for a long time and outlasted many of the trends that float through. Definitely... Read more

Coffee is always spot on. Highly recommended, Jamie may seen like a grump but I think it's coz he puts all the love in to the coffee. Touch of Melbourne in Brisbane. I love it.
