Just passable coffee (short mac), but a really nice change of atmosphere. Hope the coffee improves, as this would be a great addition to the coffee scene in Brisbane.
Really is a little alley hide away, it has a bit of a grungy/tropical setting. Serving up map coffee (with a little food) service is pretty good and very relaxed. Coffee presentation is ok, but not perfect. The macchiato I had was extremely bitter and almost undrinkable. Alen's Espresso a block... Read more
Nice hidden away cafe. The atmosphere was quite nice, especially when you want to get away from the office for some fresh air. The coffee was not as good as the food. Definitely not a place to go for the coffee.
A bit overheated and burnt. Wouldn\'t recommend. The smells coming from the kitchen smelled good though.
Quirky cafe with a garden bit down a lane. Bit worn and dark for me but can appreciate what they are doing, went there in winter hence summer may be better. Anyway coffee and breakfast great.
Lovely little alley cafe, you can totally miss it if your not concentrating! Love the brick and gravel and greenery aesthetics.I had a cappuccino and a grilled pesto, cheese, tomato, salami, ham and rocket sandwich on turkish bread. WOW. Coffee was great, lovely taste but a touch hot..but hey who... Read more
Service was terrible, toast was burnt, dust everywhere inside, loud weird music. I heard ome of the guys yell at the young girl working there to do the dishes when I left he was doing nothing and she was working her butt off. And my hot choc was too hot and tasted disgusting. Never going there again

Dropped in to Java Coast Cafe because of the "relaxed atmosphere" and to make an interviewee feel at ease. When the waitress brought two flat whites instead of two long blacks (morning of 13 Feb) she appeared annoyed when I said that the order was incorrect. I was by no means rude. I was certain... Different from your usual corporate coffee haunt, looks a little tired but the area out the back is a CBD oasis. Friendly service. Go there for a relaxing Coke not the coffee. bitter, weak, awful awful brew.
1 Flat White
had the pizza and the cajun chicken burger, both cooked perfectly.
the coffee was perfection. for anyone complaining about the bitterness, real coffee is espresso and espresso is supposed to be bitter. crema was perfect (thick and slightly bitter) coffee itself was strong but also with a... Read more

Unreal little alley cafe. The garden out the back is like nothing you'll find in the city. Great to relax with a coffee (Map) which is good if you like something with more body then the everyday (more common than bums) Di Bella or Merlo. The food is simple and done very well. And the service is... Read more
Personally, the coffee was fairly average. Staff weren't the friendliest on my day of visit. Vibe quite cosy.
Java Coast is a saviour. Extracting coffee and infusing tea to the Court precinct of the Sunshine State's capital. JC (pardon the Jesus/saviour pun) delivers exceptional beverages in either a relaxed courtyard oasis, or with turn of the century atmospheric style.
Works by local... Read more
