I really want to love this cafe. Mainly because I live locally and really like the location and setting. Unfortunately, it fails to deliver on great coffee (between acceptable and good). It is ok, but really not great.
The first thing that struck me about this cafe was the price. It seemed a bit expensive. The coffee was very mellow and over powered by the milk. The cakes were nice and rich. It's a popular cafe on Lancaster Road but not my type of coffee.
Not a bad espresso, but not wonderful. Too expensive. Very good service.

If you love paying through the roof for an average coffee, you'll love vanilla pod. Cakes are lovely but this isn't cake hunter..
Brilliant little place! Has a warm, family friendly atmosphere. The Byron Bay coffee is great and really well made - and the service is really good!

Had coffee here three times. They use Beans from an Australian plantation. Coffee was pretty average, a bit thin. Shame as it has so much potential to be a coffee hot spot! If only they would get passionate about great coffee.
Best thing about Vanilla Pod is the choc coated bean you get with your coffee- the coffee is not a happy place! But good location, and always nice service. Cakes supposed to be the drawcard, but ones I've tried are a bit pedestrian.
Great coffee friendly service I will be back that's team
Best part about VP is the people watching. The worst part is the coffee unfortunately, closely followed by the price.
I too really want to love this cafe. It is very adorable with too cute for school decor and lovely service. I want this place to be my kind of place but the coffee was only okay. The food was also okay. It has so much potential and I agree they need to get more excited about their coffee. But they... Read more
too small and cramped and milkshake was warm.coffee lukewarm.Food looks as if it has been in the cabinet for weeksand cakes are dry and very small for the price! Sorry totally overrated.
A popular cafe with the Ascot set, this sweet little spot provides a cosy environment to meet friends or just flick through a magazine while enjoying a decent cuppa. The staff all appear to adore their jobs, and they often greet regular customers by name. The decor is delightful - rustic and... Read more
