2 Skinny Piccolos
Went back after a while away and tried a cap. It was def better than your average cuppa, so would drop by again. Strong and interesting enough. Good service even when busy.
Piccolo of the house blend (mostly Costa Rican) "Dark Horse" was excellent.
The best thing about my visit was the huge smile of front guy (Mark?). Despite being kind of busy after the lunch rush, he was really happy to discuss beans and stuff. It's those little moments that make my day... Read more
This is one of the best places to get coffee in the Sydney CBD. There are a stack of people passing through this small cafe, so based on that alone, you know you are in for a good coffee!
Coffee again was top shelf. Could only fault the visual look of the coffee, otherwise top coffee. This is an outstanding espresso bar and one of the best in Sydney for sure.
2 Espressos
I was in the city today attending a book launch at Dymocks and afterwards my colleagues said they wanted to grab a coffee.
I told them they were in luck as great coffee was to be had just a short walk away.
My reputation for knowing good coffee was upheld by the usual high standard at... Read more
1 Flat White, 1 Long Black, 1 Soy Latte
Always good and a really interesting blend. Only negative is that to get any flavour in a milk based drink, you really need to ask for a double - which at Mecca prices makes it an expensive coffee.
Been here a few times now on different trips to sydney. Always great coffee, service and tasty food options.
The location is a strength and a weakness. Central for city dwellers, but noisy as can be with traffic on King St rushing by. Macchiato had intriguing flavours, a truly unique blend.
This place is amazing, made a side trip last time I was in Sydney to try this place out. They are on top of every facet of the coffee game these guys. The ristretto I ordered was nice and short, thick and the golden crema was very aromatic. The follow up Latte was also cracking with a creamy gloss... Read more
Three words ... ridiculously good espresso!
Wow!
Ohhhh Mecca -Yes I pray 5 times a day that my local coffee places could do what these guys do with coffee beans so consistently perfectly - considering how stupidly busy they are they treat each extraction like it were their last.
Whether it's the house blend which puts most others... Read more
1 Short Macchiato, 1 Flat White, 1 Piccolo
I used the Beanhunter iPhone app to find this place as I'm not in the city that much and I wasn't disappointed. I had 3 flat whites over 3 days and each was very good. Cost was good also. There were always customers there but they were very quick.
I dropped in here yesterday to see what all the fuss was about, my latte was great, quick service too, very impressive.
Mecca cafe really step up, awsome latte art on every table I could see, line out the door and around the corner, good indications of a great brew of sidamo, columbian and Kenya well done guys thanks for the experience, great to see u doing well. Would like to see inclusion of a single origin. Staff... Read more
Wow. It was highly recommended and defs didn't disappoint. So many people went in and out in the time I was there - a testament to its well-deserved reputation as a place for phenomenal coffee,x
This is the first stop whenever I'm in the city. The coffee is awesome, and even though it's a busy place, I always find the staff pleasant and helpful. They really know their stuff. Nice to take five if you can get a seat and watch everyone rushing by.
Best coffee in the Sydney CBD, always busy any time of the day. The business means its always buzzing but the quality doesn't seem to drop despite the pressure. Food offer is good, but lack of space limits what is possible.
If your in the Sydney CBD, just go ! If there is a line up, just wait your turn ! (Which there will be) It\'s well worth it.
The house blend Dark Horse makes a top flat white at the hands of Mecca's consistently excellent baristi. The benchmark for proper coffee in Sydney
This place is a must for Sydney cbd.. A light in the cbd dark.. Do it
Mecca are one of the leaders in coffee. This is shown by the availability of single origins, including the only place I've seen the much sort after hacienda la Esmeralda gesha coffee. This on their clover is a coffee to change people. To me the atmosphere leaves a little to be desired but at the... Read more
Arguably the best espresso in Sydney CBD and certainly in my Top 5. In the morning, expect a monster queue - but don't fear, it clears pretty quickly.
Service quality varies greatly depending on who serves you. Atmosphere is about as good as it gets when you're adjacent to one of... Read more
Mecca tends to get rave reviews from a lot of people - I like it, but find it a bit inconsistent at times. Coffee is a great blend though haven't always found the milk creamy; Service is generally pretty friendly (in a brisk kind of way) but can also be a bit abrupt (in a brisk kind of way! ;o)
