It was a decent walk up the street to get here, but well worth it.
Being from Melbourne, I am new to the great area known as Surry Hill. None the less, I am quickly learning to love it here. Coffee is solid, and made me feel right at home. My Colombian espresso had perfect acidity, and a... Read more
Been here a few more times since my first review the guys have definitely picked up their game. Service is great, coffee not the best but still great and the food is amazing. Great atmosphere especially on the weekends !
Lovely spot for a solid brew and lazy breakfast. Awesome mirage machine that pumps out the goods with great, efficient service.
Absolutely love this place - makes me wish I lived in Surry Hills! My 2 flat whites were beautiful. So was my Mexican Chocolate milkshake, Ice cream sandwich and Plum trifle. mmmm.... mmmmm...

Given the buzz surrounding this place, our visit did not live up to expectations.
Coffee was, as another reviewer mentioned, lacking in strength and flavor, even when made with a double shot.
Food was ok, but not what I would call value for money.
Service was... Read more
Fair tops. Decor is awesome. Atmosphere is awesome. Coffee was solid. Friendly staff were nice to see.
1 Pour Over, 1 Espresso
So this cafe has copped a bad wrap here and there. I have no idea why. It was flat out when we arrived, we waited only 10 mins! Service was wonderful and friendly. A really inviting atmosphere. The coffee was wonderful. Wasn't like anything I have tried before to be completely honest with you.... Read more
awesome coffee today and friendly service.
Another one of those highly reviewed/rated places - so I was a bit unsure of what to expect. Upon arrival, we were told that there would be a bit of a wait for a table (it was 2pm on a Sunday arvo by then) but good thing the 'wait' turned out to be only a couple of minutes, phhew!
1 Soy Piccolo
I had a good experience here. Coffee was well crafted, but i felt it fell into the very 'safe' category ie. balanced and smooth, but not unique..., which can be disappointing when an establishment is roasting their own. The fit out is excellent and the service was good. Definitely worth a visit
I work very close to Reuben Hills and while there are other cafe's closer, none come close to matching the coffee done at Reuben's. I frequent Reuben's every day and am always happy with the consistent deep bodied coffee I receive. I would recommend the coffee here to anyone and everyone.
Thoroughly enjoyed single origin blend served this morning, more so than the one I got yesterday from single origin roasters. Coffee was naturally sweet and smooth with no bitterness. Had the brioche which was rather greasy so would probably got with the baked eggs next time.
Went on the weekend with friends and found the experience a little inconsistent, The food was great, as was the service, but everyone around the table found the coffee a bit weak and lacking, especially when we were expecting so much more.
I had a cold drip to begin with which... Read more

the coffee hear lived up to expectations, gorgeous tasting cold drip! food was so so, but shitty secondhand cutlery was a hipster joke. fix those and this place could be the St.Ali of Sydney
Brilliant coffee, both espresso and brewed. This place is so Melbourne (massive Seven Seeds vibe): virtually no signage etc.; very cool set up and fit out; an eclectic range of seating options; staff a bit too cool. Food looked good but didn't have any. Check it out if you're in the area (or even... Read more
One of my top 3 cafe's in Surry Hills for coffee. Definitely worth a visit.
I really like this place. the vibe, the look, the food and the coffee are what I want from a cafe/roaster. the food offerings are plentiful and exciting. the coffee style is a move away from what they were doing at Source, mosman, but equally as good.
2 Flat Whites
Tasty food, good coffee and great layout.
visited this place today on the high recommendation of some close friends. It was full to overflowing which was a good sign so i could only grab some takeaways. It seemed that the system for takeaways was a little unclear to the first time customer and left me feeling awkward just taking up space.... Read more
This review is subjective. I blame it on the high expectations I set for the place...which weren't met really.
My Piccolo lacked body and flavour and I could only just barely finish it. I was going to stay for food but after having the coffee...I just "wanted out". If anything, the... Read more
I've been here three times and the coffee has been pretty consistently awesome. Although last time my wife got an iced latte and it tasted terribly bitter. Has bothered to wait for seating so I can't tell you about the food. Great looking place, but it is always super packed. Lively hipster feel.... Read more
Having spent the last year in London, during which time I yearned daily for a certain favourite cafe on Reservoir st (you know the one), I was excited to hear about a new Surry Hills competitor in the form of Reuben Hills. The review I'm writing is based on my fourth visit to the cafe, having... Read more

2 Lattes, 1 Ristretto
A really great addition to the Surry Hills scene and up there with other popular spots like Single Origin and Di Bella. The coffee was very good (although I'd still give Single Origin the edge) and the fit out of the shop is top notch. Very open and lots of light. They also have not one but 2 Kees... Read more
Great coffee and great atmosphere. I've only tried 1 food item on the menu - the brioche with caramel and it was delicious! Food looks great and I think they sell coffee beans too (well you can see the coffee roaster upstairs so I assume they sell) so I will certainly return!
