Really good. A little 'paint by numbers' and looks like every other Five Senses account. But what was in the cup was pretty tasty.
2 Lattes, 1 Espresso
I am sitting here in this cafe trying to fault it....... Still trying ....... I can't. First of all the service was quite possibly the best service I have had..... Anywhere! Every single member of staff was excellent and service standards were second to none! Coffee was excellent. Full of flavour,... Read more
despite many great review and high reccommendation the coffee was just ok... nothing to rave much about water served in a rusted tin cup... more attention to detail is definitely needed here
Awesome coffee, cute place and friendly staff. I'll be back tomoro ☕😃👍
Whether my review can be taken seriously or not is contingent on one thing..."Did the curry I eat last night confuse/damage my taste buds?"
If not, then I would say my Piccolo latte was lacking a bit of depth. Whilst the toffee/chocolate sweetness was present, I felt like the... Read more
My experience has been similar to previous reviewer - hit and miss. I was in last week and the 'tude was thick but the crema was thin.
Double Ristretto Flat Whites were both quite pale, weak in strength and not up to the usual JB high standard. I brought a business partner hoping to... Read more

Excellent flat white. Average eats.
The last time I reviewed this place I scathed it to the bitter end. All the issues I had have now been vanquished, good job guys! Great coffee and food! Although your water glasses are a tin cup... Don't try too hard to be hipster, after all in the end basic hospo requires the publics intrest at heart.
A great coffee and great team.
Just flew into Sydney from Brisbane and beanhuntered and this place popped up as the "top rated." I don't know why it isn't rated higher. The coffee was so nice and the steak sandwich was really delicious. The atmosphere was really cool, grungy and hip. The staff were so friendly. It was also... Read more
This is a long standing favourite of mine. Great coffee. Busting to try the syphon.
Absolutely flawless! Amazing coffee, amazing food, amazing atmosphere
Great coffee. I really do enjoy the 5 senses blend from Melbourne. I also had great food in which they switched egg for mushrooms very happily. I had a friendly experience overall. I do understand the comments on the overboard hipster deco/items.
Eclectic mix of decor, and really fun staff. Had an iced coffee which was good.
too gimmicky. water out of coopers tallies poured into rusty (!) metal camping mugs. this isn't a frankie mag photo shoot!
quips after practically every menu item is so obnoxious. and on the menu, it sucks. while the food is good, you basically have four options only.
Great coffee and unique decor.
Awesome coffee, awesome service, awesome steak sandwich.
The most satisfying flat white I've had in a while. This new-ish cafe at the city end of Commonwealth Street between Wentworth Ave and Liverpool Street is a welcome addition to an area that's until quite recently been a pretty barren zone for food and drink.
Great little hole-in-the-wall just south of Hyde Park, I had an excellent double espresso however the menu was a little on the sparse side. So, if you're looking for a quick coffee on the go or a quiet place to have a cup I would highly recommend this Joe Black.
Brand new cafe in Surry Hills, pumping out 5 senses coffee and simple yet tasty food. A very unique a bright fit out, with cheerful and helpful staff.
Without a shadow of a doubt, Joe Black do great coffee. The range, options, and bean offerings are brilliant. I’ve frequented the shop since the day it opened (my office overlooks that street) and have sampled a fair few of their coffee offerings. Their food is also well worth a try, but it is a... Read more
1 Syphon, 1 Ristretto
Awesome coffee, great atmosphere!
This is a hidden, hole-in-the-wall cafe with some fun, quirky staff. They served the best (authentic) chai latte I've ever tasted, and some pretty good coffee too. Great atmosphere with lots of cool decorations. Definitely a winner!
1 Skinny Latte
Really great coffee. Had the Stormin' Norman which was poached egg, cherry tomato, spinach onion and avocado on sourdough, really tasty. Will definitely be back.
great coffee and honest, simple yet best chicken and avocado sandwich I had for ages.
