It seems only fair that my 150th Beanhunter review should be something special, so after procrastinating for several weeks I finally decided to pull my finger out and recount one of my most memorable café experiences in recent times…
We started our day off with an amazing private... Read more
Best piccolo so far in Byron. Super friendly staff. Lively and lovely atmosphere
Stayed in Byron for 6 days and have just finished my 6th consecutive visit. Sensational. My "trad Mac" (long black Mac) was perfect everytime and the only dilemma was choosing between Bircher, tabbouleh, pork and eggs - the food is all exceptional and despite the laid back atmosphere, the service... This place was terrific. Great coffee, fantastic fresh juice and amazing food. I'll definitely be back.
Surf, coffee, then beer up the road. I love Byron.
Most likely the best cafe in Byron. They roast their own coffee, and they roast it very well! One of the few cafes to offer single origins alongside their blend to keep things interesting. They do aeropress, cold drip and siphon coffee as all good cafes should.
Food is a bit expensive,... Read more

Great food, great coffee. Flawless!
Went back for 3 coffees over an amazing breakfast. Nuff said. Be prepared for a bit of a wait though but worth it.
Great food and coffee. Which is rare to get both good coffee and food at same place.
Use Marvell St Roasters beans.
I liked the service whereby the Brazilian SO that was advertised on the blackboard had just run out. So the waitress brought out the bag of the new bean... Read more
Always come here when I head to Byron bay, good to know I can get a good Coffee away from melbourne.
Holy s*>$t. Now the food just keeps getting better and better too. As for the coffee...I wanted to climb in my cup and swim around for a bit. The best.
Best coffee (and breakfast) in Byron Bay. This place has a great atmosphere and the staff are wonderful. I seem to be living here at the moment!
Visited this little gem twice during a recent trip to Byron and both coffee and food was outstanding: the breakfast menu is varied and very tasty - recommend the ricotta-nutty dish with banana, prunes and home roasted grains! Beautiful Origin this morning, very good depth and fast service too
My coff wasn't doing a lot. Call me a harsh critic. Milk over-aerated and there was a lack of coffee flavour. Might have just had a sub-par drink. Barista puts a lot of effort in each cup.
Funky babe'in fun and hip.
This cafe rocks Byron and is known well. Staff are super fun and create a good atmosphere.
I enjoy the freshness of the coffee here, and they practise their latte art well, however I can't say I have ever thoroughly enjoyed my coffee. It has either been... Read more
Got there just on closing so staff not particularly helpful. Coffee was ok. Double riz was pulled too fast and too long. Pic was better than average but certainly no standout flavours despite being on the single origin.
Marvellous marvellous. Bayleaf is a tight and busy space - customers are often found spilling out of the windows onto the footpath outside - where one feels very comfortable. Coffee is fabulous (lovely espresso and cold drip) and the inexpensive cupfuls of bircher muesli are absolutely... Read more
The coffee was served warm, not hot (as is specified on their blackboard, if you want it served hot you have to ask when ordering...) in an appropriate sized cup for a long black. Robust, full bodied flavour on the front palate that mellows out to a nice lingering finish. Dark in appearance with... Read more
1 Long Black
Cool place on a freezing day in The Bay, stumbled across the BAY LEAF tried espresso of there CAPOEIRINHA, then a house blend THE DAILY GRIND, nice full of flavor This place would work anywhere
The waitress was quite proud of their home-roasted beans and justifiably so. A good spot on a wet Byron afternoon. Brownie was pretty darn good too.
Funky little cafe that has the feeling of sitting on comfy milk crates, this place is really busy you may have to wait for a table. Coffee is locally roasted across the road and is fresh and flavorsome. Needs more outdoor seating but overall an interesting experience.
Finally got back there again. same quality and consistency between the 10 coffees we ordered today
Great atmosphere and super friendly staff. Kids loved the house made banana bread and really enjoyed watching the goings on on in the brew area. We got to sample a new roast, which was mighty fine. A must visit for coffee in Byron Bay.
This is the place to get coffee while in Byron Bay, must say coffee is a little weak but still nice. This must be where the locals hangout, the place is great and people are too.
Today Brazilian single origin. Smooth intense and worth returning for. Lunch was also delicious.
