Ona coffee sets the standards. Great coffee, amazing menu, and staff that are dedicated to coffee. Sasa and Sam have been roasting some amazing beans. My Ethiopian espresso was extracted perfectly- great strawberry notes! I love this place!
My double riz of the Ethiopia / Sumatra blend was delicious. I backed that up with a Mach, then with a DRFW. All were pleasurable.
The barista handed me a cupping notes card which detailed the origin , varietals, altitudes, ideal brew specs etc. (see photo). These guys are going to a... Read more
Why. ! I asked for a cappuccino with no chocolate on the top. The young lady says " oh a flat white" i say no a cap she argues with me for a bit but I get a flat white. I like the froth and airated milk of a cap not the flat white. There is a difference this guys haven't worked it out yet.
Bacon and egg rolls used to be good, now just average. And instead of $10 for a bacon egg roll and coffee, the price has gone to $14!?!? What the? Still good coffee.
new and improved lunch menu always awesome Long black
1 Long Black, 1 Long Black
If you like good-GREAT coffee then here is the place. Perfect extraction and silky milk. Strong flavour without being too bitter! They seem passionate about coffee and their blends. They do all the roasting on sight. The food too was fast and delicious. Best coffee in Canberra worth the drive to... Read more
Not sure what happened, bacon egg rolls no longer with rocket and aioli, now with just tomato sauce. And now $4 more expensive. Coffee still as good as always.
Just missed the lunch rush. These guys have fantastic service and are super friendly and helpful. Coffee is always perfect.
Cold drip, Ethiopian blend. Was somewhat tasty but also my first experience with cold drip. The flavour profile was very light and unfortunately I was tasting plastic through it. I'll try a normal coffee next time.

Super friendly service, great tasting coffee and sweet things
First stop on a Canberra trip. I've tried Ona beans previously, so was keen to see the flagship store. When I arrived I was immediately greeted and given directions on how to order. I always appreciate a high level of service like this. Coffee was prepared excellently, and the two bean blend was... Read more
Hit it in a busy patch. Had an Ethiopian Sidamo espresso, house blend espresso and a pourover with their beehouse 2 hole pourover (trubrew?). The Sidamo nailed the typical strawberry notes and had solid caramelized sugar notes as well. House blend was said to be acidic, not so acidic on my palette,... Read more
As a regular, I've probably had more than 100 cups to base this review on.
If each and every one wasn't so consistent and so eminently drinkable there's no way I or my coffee drinking colleagues would persist with the daily drive.
The coffee is always spot on to taste... Read more
Amazing to find a place like this in Fyshwick. Surprisingly sunny location with good food, nice staff and very good coffee. Been twice and haven't been disapointed.
2 Cappuccinos, 2 Flat Whites
I'm not a fan of trying to get some kind of running conversation going with other reviewers - everyone has their own experience of a cafe, and I'm usually not one to judge another reviewer. Not even one who's only two reviews - 1.3 and 1.2 - have been of a single cafe, which they claim to have... Read more

Went in to try a syphon. Although roasting for a syphon is an art this was a pretty good attempt.
Flavour of the roast was floral but had a trace of bitterness.
The overall experience was less then I expected due to the knowledge of the wait staff.
Coffee was ok but not... Read more
I cannot fault this place at all. Excellent staff awesome coffee and a amazing shop 10/10.
I have been dropping past this place fairly regularly lately.
The coffee is quite good, they do have a very cool coffee machine (the same as used by Seven Seeds in Melb I think) and I thought they could do just a little better.
The service has always been pretty good... Read more

Admittedly, I had an Ona coffee at their shop in Manuka. However it is owned by the same people and uses the same beans that they roast. Coffee was good, service was great and the atmosphere of the cafe was a little 'tired', but nothing much to complain about. It was in a promenade of cafes, but I... Read more

Once again even when they are busy I still got a fantastic coffee, can't wait for another
This place has become my pre-work must stop 5 days a week. Was a bit suss on Ona in the beginning only having had it at other places that had no idea. Coffee is consistent, staff are friendly first thing in the morning unlike other places and only took a few days to remember my order and name.
This is the standard for coffee in the ACT. I had a long black made from Hoduras beans. The flavour was amasing with bubblegum notes. Suggestions for how to drink the coffee were given by the roaster himself. This will become an institution of world class specialty coffee.
Consistently great coffee and excellent food. It's strange that people have mentioned that the service has been off? My work mates and I have never had anything other than friendly, smiling staff serve us. Anyone who has said otherwise makes me raise an eyebrow. \:-|
Paid another visit today, a example of the publicity going to there heads. The waitress that served us was just rude and very ordinary. Coffee has lot it's edge and was served burnt and bitter. I had a muffin which at best was a week old stale and dry. No good at all
Fantastic standard of coffee and service. A hidden gem.
